Well, we now know why there was smoke rolling off the grass at the store/shop after we knew lightning struck, and why there is now a hole in the ground. 😳 Thank God it wasn’t any closer to those people or their truck, the pumps, or the building. That was more than a little too close for comfort.

Our excitement for the day at the shop…

A huge “snap/boom”, a bright light right outside the window in my office and the shop, and smoke rolling from the ground. I ran in to get my phone and when we got out there the smoke was already gone, but as you can see, lightning hit the ground and blew a small hole in it.

The excitement can now end. That was a little too close for comfort. Albeit pretty damn cool! 🤣😂

🎶 CAS is back, tell a friend! 🎵

We have power and are back in business!!

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding, especially this afternoon while Brandi, Shari, Zach (and I via FaceTime) got the system back up and running.

A HUGE thank you to the linemen who’ve worked so hard since right after Thursday evening’s storms to get everyone back up and with power in as timely of a manner as they humanly can. We appreciate them so much!

Andq a special shoutout to our friend Lisa at Shell on Market Street in Bloomington for letting us store our frozen and refrigerated items in their cooler so we didn’t lose anything! We appreciate you!!

New sign message at CAS! My favorite memories with my dad are riding in our little red wagon behind his little riding mower, and going sledding in the winter!! Such wonderful memories!! ❤️ What are some of yours?

A friend posted on Facebook their frustrations regarding gas prices. Someone commented what you see in the picture. I responded with “Please don’t” along with an explanation of why I said that. Which is basically…

We are also frustrated at fuel costs. Our invoices are ungodly high. And we pay those before we make the minuscule profit we do. Unfortunately, because we are the face people see, we get the brunt of the anger/frustration.

In addition, people put these stickers on our pumps not realizing if we don’t catch them in time and our secret shopper comes through, we get penalized. Not to mention, one was recently on the display. If we accidentally damage the screen trying to remove the sticker, it’s an atrocious amount out of our pocket to replace it. We already have enough out-of-pocket expenses for things like people opening the cabinet in the bathroom where we store our extra toilet paper and paper towels and peeing all over them (yes, this legitimately happened this past week 😩🤯😤😵‍💫).

We 100% understand why people are frustrated, as we are too. But, doing things like putting stickers on the pump is misplaced anger and negatively affects the wrong people.

We’re switching up our counter change jar to a charity rotation every two months. We will still host one for St. Jude in the mix.

The remainder of this month, June, and July, we will be collecting donations for Ruby’s Rescue & Retreat!

Jean Ann and Tim work tirelessly to take care of so many puppies/dogs that don’t have a home. They ensure that the families these pups go to are thoroughly screened so they know the lives they’re taking care of are going to good homes. They have a lot of food, vet bills, utilities, etc. to pay for, so this is why we’ve chosen them for our first indoor change/dollar container fundraiser!
