In the process of looking at my old website I started thinking about those pretty coolant fill necks I used to make. I don't really have a great shop space for fab and don't plan on making the welded ones any time soon but I started wondering what was out there and did a little search to find out I have actually been knocked off.
Honestly I'm kind of proud of this. Working in something with such low demand as the AW11 to even make it to where someone felt it was worth ripping off is pretty rare lol.

In other news I have felt bad for a while that I took down my old website which was in desperate need of updating, and then just failed to get the new one set up with the old info.
The other day I was curious and looked on the Wayback Machine and my website is pretty well documented there for things like product pages, writeups, etc.

Unfortunately it does look like the images are hit and miss.

It has also been so long I have to wonder what I would redo and change regarding a lot of this old information but it is still there as it was wayback.

Ugh it's been a long time since I even switched to this profile lol.
I am going to try to put some energy into some MR2 stuff and more Matrix Garage related projects here so if I can manage to build some momentum maybe I'll be posting here a little more.

I figured I'd post here about recently finding out someone took some rough 3D scans I had put on Sketchfab of the C pillar and OEM C pillar trim and just printed the raw scan and has been trying to sell them on FB Marketplace lol.

I'm not too worried about this. I wouldn't have put them online if I cared much. Also I knew it would take a ton of work to get from those scans to something anyone in their right mind would actually sell so it is pretty funny watching someone try to sell the raw scan as not only a product but for like $230 or something.
Even more hilarious now that a couple people in the MR2 community know and watching this guy get dragged on his listing.

I scanned these with my old Einscan SP which is designed for smaller parts so I put small divots in the trim to help with feature recognition and alignment.
These guys couldn't even be bothered to remove the divots from the actual visible surface of the part, so it was easy for me to recognize them as my scans.
Unfortunately pointing it out and laughing about it means someone could actually make an effort to clean them up and try again but it is too funny not to talk about. So if you see anyone selling 3D printed C pillar trim with these divots in the surface they are just my raw scans with no cleanup work printed. If I thought that would be a remotely acceptable solution I probably would have done it already.
