On Friday, June 26th, Freedom Waters Foundation will have the privilege of welcoming approximately 13 U.S. Navy Seabees for a special morning on the water.

These remarkable men and women have spent their careers building, protecting, and serving our nation. Now it’s our turn to serve them.

We’ll be heading out for a morning of fishing, fellowship, laughter, and creating memories that we hope will last long after the lines are reeled in.

At Freedom Waters, we believe healing, connection, and joy often happen when people step away from the demands of everyday life and simply enjoy time together on the water.

A heartfelt thank you to our volunteers, captains, boat owners, and supporters who make these experiences possible. Because of you, we’re able to honor those who have given so much for others.

Please join us in thanking our U.S. Navy Seabees for their service and sacrifice. We can’t wait to spend the day with you!

The dangerous part about storms isn’t always the wind…
It’s thinking you still have more time to prepare. 🌪️

Every year people say:
“We’ll get ready later.”

Hurricane season is coming, and preparation matters more than most boat owners realize.

Every year we see boats damaged or destroyed during storms, and many times it’s not because the storm was unstoppable — it’s because the boat simply wasn’t secured properly.

Storm surge.
Wind loads.
Dock movement.
Line stretch.

These forces are serious, and if a boat isn’t rigged correctly they can move thousands of pounds of weight in ways most people don’t expect.

At AJ’s Yacht Service we approach hurricane preparation the same way professionals approach heavy equipment transport and rigging — understanding load forces, surge allowance, and proper line placement so vessels have the best chance of riding out severe weather.

A few of the most common issues we see before storms include:

• Lines tied too tight with no surge allowance
• Insufficient dock lines or poor line placement
• No chafe protection on storm lines
• Canvas and loose equipment left on the vessel

You don’t think about the bottom of the ocean… until your boat is sitting on it.

Over the last few weeks, Florida saw some of the lowest winter tides we’ve experienced in years.

No warning.
No dramatic storm surge.
Just water that kept disappearing.

Our client’s 51’ Schaefer — Integrity — sits in a slip with a natural rock bed. It cannot be dredged deeper. That’s simply the reality of that location.

When the tide dropped to extreme negative levels, the stern settled and the pods carried weight they were never designed to carry.

This wasn’t neglect.
This wasn’t poor planning.
This was nature doing what nature does.

Here’s what matters.

Our client didn’t have to panic.
They didn’t have to leave work.
They didn’t have to coordinate a tow.

Because they’re under our management.
