As temperatures rise, existing tire damage can get worse and increase the risk of a blowout during long highway drives on roads like I-84 or Route 44. That’s why Tire Safety Month is a good reminder to do a walk-around inspection before the summer travel season gets busy.

Look for signs of dry rot, sidewall cracking, uneven wear, or bulges in the tire. These issues may seem small now, but they can turn into major safety concerns once heat and highway speeds are added into the mix.
