Most evenings, we trade the shop for our office, spread out whatever didn't get finished for the day, and try to get a little ahead of tomorrow.

Somewhere between the estimates, invoices and phone calls, we occasionally remember we're supposed to be off the clock.

There's a whole lot more to MC than what happens inside of the garage. It's a business we've poured our hearts into, and one we are still building together, one very busy day at a time.

We're grateful for every customer who has helped make it what it is today.

Six years ago today, Matt lost his greatest hero, mentor and best friend - his dad, Donnie.

There are people who shape who we become long after they're gone, and he is that person for Matt.

So much of who Matt is - the way he works, the way he fixes things, his determination, humor and the way he takes care of people he loves - carries pieces of his dad with it.

We have one of Donnie's shirts hanging in our waiting room. Many of our customers knew him, worked with him, or have their own stories about him. It brings up memories for a lot of people when they see the hi-vis yellow and Carroll Concrete logo.

Six years feels like a long time and no time at all.

Thinking of you today, Donnie. You are so deeply loved and missed. ❤

I know a lot of families in our community are looking at groceries, fuel, taxes and the cost of heating their homes and wondering where another repair bill is supposed to fit. I hear it when you call MC, when you stop to see us, or when we run into you while out and about. It sits really heavy with us.

Our business has grown 18% in new customer base growth since September of last year. We're grateful that so many people trust us. I know we say that often and we whole heartedly mean it every time. Our lifts are working nonstop from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and we're doing everything we can to keep the schedule moving. We're outgrowing our current facility, and it has become clear that the addition planned for next spring is an absolute necessity.

We are seeing more and more vehicles arriving on tow trucks. Some are new to us customers that have already paid for a repair elsewhere that didn't fix the problem. They've lost time and money and still need an answer. We know that is especially hard right now.

Our own costs continue to rise. We're seeing fuel surcharges and daily increases on parts, sometimes after quotes have already been provided to us. We can't always make the estimate or invoice easier to hear, but we can make sure you understand what you are paying for.

We'll give you straight answers and honest explanations about what we find, what needs attention now, what can wait and what it will cost before you move forward. You'll get the same people answering the phone who grew up here and who will ask about your day when you walk through the door.

There's a person behind every vehicle in our lot. Someone who needs it to get to work, to take care of their family and get through the week, someone who needs it to bring a family member to doctor's appointments. It may be a work truck that is run hard every day and needs to be repaired to be back on the road.

We know our customers because we choose to know them. That is what we can offer, and it is the kind of hometown shop we will continue working hard to be.

Update 9/25/2026: Thank you again to everyone who has reached out offering helping, shared the post and shown kindness. We are being asked if there is a link for donations - at this time there is not.

We have already had donations dropped off here at our office and will continue collecting them for Al and Polly. At this time, we are not collecting household items, clothing, furniture, etc. until a specific list is provided.

Thank you for continuing to keep them in your thoughts and showing up for our neighbors. We will continue to update you here on this thread.

We want to thank everyone for the calls, emails and Facebook messages. We are safe, Al and Polly are safe and our business is safe. We want to turn our focus on helping Al and Polly our neighbors who lost their home yesterday during the 4-alarm fire.

Al and Polly have lived in our community for over 40 years. They are our friends. They are our neighbors. We are asking the community to step-up during this devasting time and stop the bickering about the bridge and response times. There is a time and a place for it, and it's not now.

We are thankful for the many agencies (13+) that lined our tiny little street fighting the fire, the wind and the challenging conditions that faced them.

RedCross is arriving today to help. At this time, we do not know what is needed in terms of items - when we do, we will update you all.

Good morning and Happy Friday from MC Auto Repair!

I found this picture of us from YEARS ago, back when we apparently had more free time and considerably less gray hair.

I don’t think either one of us had any idea what MC Auto Repair would eventually turn into.

These days the phone rings constantly, the bays overflow, the schedule somehow fills faster than I can empty it, and we have a crew out there absolutely killing it.

Jake has settled in like he’s been here forever, Jon keeps the schedule moving, and having the guys here has finally given Matt more time to focus on diagnostics and the complicated stuff instead of trying to physically do everything himself.

And me? I basically spend my days trying to keep all of the moving pieces moving in approximately the same direction. 😂

It’s crazy to look at where we started compared to where we are now.

Anyway, happy Friday from the people behind MC Auto Repair. ❤️

Thanks for continuing to keep our little shop ridiculously busy.

Today, we remember. 🇺🇸

Twenty-five years ago today, our country experienced a loss that changed us forever.

We remember the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001. We remember the first responders, the families who lost someone they loved, and all those whose lives were forever changed by that day.

Twenty-five years later, their memory has not faded.

We will never forget. ❤ 🤍💙

A little-known fact about the people behind MC Auto Repair… we got married! ❤️

And because apparently, we don’t know how to take time off, we got married and went right back to work. No honeymoon, no vacation, no time away from the shop.

We don’t close often, but we’ve decided it’s finally time to take a long weekend. We have an impending house move, and it’s time!

MC Auto Repair, LLC will be CLOSED tomorrow, Friday, August 28th and Monday, August 31st.

Our crew has been working incredibly hard, the bays have been full, and we’re taking a few days to unplug, catch up on life, and enjoy a little time away from wrenches and grease.

We’ll be back Tuesday, September 1st at 7:30 AM, ready to go!

Teaching moment. 🔧

There's a lot of knowledge that comes with 30 years in this industry and it doesn't do much good if you don't pass it along.

A little trouble shooting, a little explaining the why behind the how, and probably a little arguing with a wiring diagram.
