Wings, Wheels and Holiday Giving Take Flight at Woodward Airfield Toys for Tots Event
CAMDEN, S.C. – The spirit of giving will soar over Camden this fall as Woodward Airfield/Kershaw County Airport (KCDN) welcomes the community for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Fly-In, Drive-In & Ride-In Toy Drive on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Presented by Kershaw County Woodward Airfield and the Carolina Aviators Network (CAN), the family-friendly event will combine aviation, classic cars, motorcycles, military history, and community service in support of children and families throughout the region.
Pilots, car enthusiasts, motorcycle riders, veterans, first responders, and local families are invited to participate by arriving by air, road, or two wheels and bringing a new, unwrapped toy for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. Guests who prefer to make a monetary contribution may also donate using a Toys for Tots QR code that will be available at the event.
"This event brings together some of the things our community enjoys most, aviation, automobiles, motorcycles, military heritage, and service to others," said event organizers. "Most importantly, every toy and donation helps brighten the Christmas season for children in need."
Visitors can expect a full afternoon of attractions and displays, including opportunities to meet U.S. Marine Corps personnel, take photographs with Marines in uniform, and explore a variety of aviation and military exhibits. Aircraft enthusiasts will enjoy fly-in arrivals, airport activities, and displays from the Carolina Aviators Network.
One of the event's most anticipated features will be military aircraft and equipment provided by the Celebrate Freedom Foundation. Planned exhibits include a historic UH-1H "Huey" helicopter, which is expected to fly into the airport and remain for public viewing, along with an AH-1F Cobra attack helicopter on static display. Additional exhibits are expected to include a Hunter drone and a military HUMVEE, giving attendees an up-close look at military aviation and ground equipment.
Automotive enthusiasts will have plenty to see as well. The popular Camden Cars & Coffee Trophy Car Show will showcase an impressive collection of specialty, classic, and custom vehicles. Motorcycle riders from the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association (CVMA) are also expected to participate, adding another unique element to the Fly-In, Drive-In & Ride-In theme.
Community safety organizations will be represented by displays from Kershaw County emergency services, including a fire truck, fireboat, and emergency medical services vehicles. These exhibits will provide families and children with opportunities to meet local first responders and learn more about their role in protecting the community.
The event reflects a broad partnership of organizations dedicated to serving Kershaw County and supporting Toys for Tots. Sponsors include the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, Kershaw County Airport, Kiwanis Club of Kershaw County, Blue Wings Aviation, Rotary Club of Camden, Carolina Aviators Network, Celebrate Freedom Foundation, Camden SC Cars & Coffee, Sun Ray Aviation, and Davis Printing Company, Inc.
All toys and donations collected during the event will benefit the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program, which distributes holiday gifts to children in need and helps deliver hope, joy, and encouragement during the Christmas season.
Admission is free, and organizers encourage families, civic groups, businesses, car clubs, motorcycle organizations, and aviation enthusiasts from across South Carolina to attend and support this worthwhile cause.
