Happy Birthday to National Guard! Honored to serve a force with such a proud legacy of service, readiness, and commitment to the Commonwealth and our nation.

🎉 Happy 389th Birthday to the National Guard! 🇺🇸

Today we recognize the legacy that began in 1636 when the first militia regiments in North America organized in Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Bay Colony’s General Court established three permanent regiments to better protect the community, laying the foundation for what would become our modern National Guard.

The descendants of those original units — the 181st Infantry, 182nd Infantry, 101st Field Artillery, and 101st Engineer Battalion — still serve today as the oldest units in the U.S. military.

This date marks the birth of the organized militia and symbolizes the beginning of all state, territory, and District of Columbia militias that proudly make up today’s National Guard.

From 1636 to now, the mission endures: Always Ready, Always There.

This month was a big one for the Darkhorse family!

We recognized several deserving Soldiers with promotions, celebrated excellence across the formation, and said a tough goodbye to SGT Tucker, whose impact on this unit will be felt for a long time. We’re proud of everything he’s accomplished and wish him nothing but success in the next chapter.

We also honored our top performers those who set the standard for the entire Battalion:
• Supply NCO of the Year: SSG Smith
• NCO of the Year: SGT Peak
• Officer of the Year: CPT Mann
• Warhorse Soldier of the Year: SGT Whitson

Each award was presented in front of loved ones, making the moment even more special.

To close out the day, the team enjoyed a full Holiday Meal and a ton of family focused fun: a photo booth, indoor bouncy house, candy bar, cake walk, raffles, and even a surprise visit from the Grinch himself.

Thank you to every Soldier, family member, and volunteer who made this event a success. Days like this show exactly what makes the 2112th unstoppable. Excellence, camaraderie, and family!

Happy Holidays to all!

This drill weekend, the 2112th Transportation Company hit the ground running literally and figuratively!

Our Soldiers proudly partnered with CASA Northern Kentucky Region to support a local 5K event, providing assistance with everything from setup to ex*****on. We were honored to help such a great cause and engage with our community in a meaningful way.

Several of our Soldiers went above and beyond placing at the top of the race:
🥇 1st Overall: SPC Redlinger
🥈 2nd Overall: LTC Watson
🥉 3rd Overall: SSG Shanks

After the run, we didn’t slow down. The 2112th also completed Individual Weapons Qualification Tables, staying mission-ready and sharpening our skills for future training events.

Proud to serve. Ready to lead.

Drill Weekend Recap – 2112th Transportation Company

Another successful drill in the books! This weekend, our Soldiers pushed themselves through the Newly implemented Army Fitness Test, stayed mission-ready with PMCS on all vehicles, and received key updates on the upcoming Enlisted Promotion System from our State G1.

We celebrated several well-earned promotions and bid farewell to some incredible teammates. Though they may be moving on, their impact on the 2112th will not be forgotten. Thank you for your dedication and service!

A huge shoutout to our brothers and sisters in the 2123rd and 2113th Transportation Companies for stepping up and helping move vital equipment without missing a beat. Your support shows what true teamwork looks like. We’re stronger together!

Over the past month, the Soldiers of the 2112th Transportation Company demonstrated unwavering dedication and grit as they completed an intense and dynamic training cycle during their Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) rotation.
Operating in a complex, high-tempo training environment, our team successfully executed critical sustainment missions—delivering Class I (subsistence), Class IV (construction materials), Class V (ammunition), and Class VIII (medical supplies) across a simulated battlefield. These efforts ensured that operational forces remained supplied, supported, and mission-ready at all times.

In addition to sustainment operations, base defense and survivability played a crucial role. Soldiers trained vigorously on tactics aligned with Large Scale Combat Operations (LSCO), sharpening their readiness for tomorrow’s challenges.

Despite grueling temperatures, long hours, and the demanding nature of JRTC itself, the 2112th rose to the occasion. Our Soldiers pushed through fatigue, leaned on one another, and embodied resilience every step of the way.

This rotation was more than just training—it was a testament to the strength, discipline, and unity of our unit. We’re proud to represent Kentucky and even prouder to serve as a capable force for our nation.

SUSTAIN THE FIGHT!

This drill weekend was one to remember!

Our Soldiers stayed mission-ready by knocking out Individual Weapons Qualification, completing critical inventories, and prepping all equipment for Annual Training. Their focus, discipline, and teamwork continue to set the standard.

We’re proud to recognize some outstanding performers:
Soldier of the Month: SPC Proulx - Assisted the Unit Movement Officer with inspection paperwork and vehicle staging that was detrimental to unit readiness
Bracket Challenge Winner: SPC Thornton
Squad of the Month: SPC Spohr, SPC Brown, and SPC Louis - provided joint operations with assisting 2123d with ammunition detail.

And a huge congratulations to SFC Lewis on a well-deserved promotion! Your leadership and dedication to our Soldiers have not gone unnoticed — we’ve been lucky to have you on the team.
