The base 911 develops 388 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque from its 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six, while the Carrera S ratchets output up to 473 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. For the non-mathletes, that’s a hike of 85 hp and 59 lb-ft for a car that weighs just 37 pounds more than the 3,472-pound base 911. These not-insignificant gains come courtesy of the turbochargers and intercoolers taken from the 992.1 Carrera GTS.
