Nic Woods Racing, now brought to you by Clay Smith Engineering

Established in 2012, Nic Woods Racing began as an extension of owner Nic Woods JDRL and Outlaw 330 career. During his stent as a driver, Nic enjoyed bracket and outlaw racing winning races and setting ET records, but his real passion lied in the mechanics and performance of the cars and engines. Learning under the watch of his grandfather George Striegel, (owner of Clay Smith Cams) Nic had a solid foundation of knowledge to develop innovative engine and clutch combinations for his customers.
Nic began the company by doing engine tuning and rebuilds in his spare time (late nights and weekends), but over the years he has expanded into a full line of products including billet block options, multiple innovative carburetor packages and specialty clutch components. Nic Woods Racing looks forward to unveiling a new line of Jr Dragster Drive Components in late 2022, that are light weight and low drag.
Due to continued growth and success within the Nic Woods Racing, Nic has decided to merge what was once his “side business” into a division of the Clay Smith Engineering, INC family businesses: Clay Smith Cams, Mr. Horsepower Apparel, and now Nic Woods Performance.
“Under the umbrella of Clay Smith Engineering, we will expand Nic’s product line to the wholesale market and look forward to offering more exciting product development and extended customer service to Nic’s customers” says Sherry Striegel Langdon, CFO of Clay Smith Engineering, INC.
