Essential Prevention Tips
You can take action every time you get in or out of a car to protect children from heatstroke:
🛑Look Before You Lock: Create a habit of checking the back seat for any passengers before you get out and lock the doors.
🛑Put Something You Need in the Back Seat: Placing your purse, phone, or work bag on the floor board of the back seat forces you to open the door every time.
🛑Keep Vehicles Locked: This prevents children from wandering into an unlocked car and getting trapped. Keep keys and key fobs out of their reach.
🚨🚨Call 911 Immediately: If you see a child alone in a vehicle, act right away. This is an emergency, and professional help is needed immediately.
A few extra seconds to double-check your car can save a life. Hot car deaths are 100% preventable. At the end of the day, I want what you want- your kiddo safe!
