AMSOIL Summernats USA and Hot RodHOT ROD to bring True Street racing action back to Indianapolis Raceway Park September 18-19, 2026.
Summernats, the iconic Australian festival of horsepower, racing, burnouts, show cars, cruising, and more, and HOT ROD who popularized the True Street drag racing category in the early ‘90s through their Fastest Street Car Shootout, have joined forces to return the category to the strip when Summernats USA hits IRP this September.
With guaranteed purses across seven categories from 15.0 through to 9.0, there’s awards and prize money up for grabs for streetcar racers who can conquer the unique True Street racing format including the 30-mile cruise route.
HOT ROD True Street is designed for street-legal vehicles using a cruise and consecutive-round racing format to prove their street worthiness. It is a ¼-mile time trial format that averages the three consecutive runs during the competition rounds to determine the category winners, which are broken out by the quickest indexed ET, and crowning an Overall Winner and Runner-Up.
