Blaster fans, here's progress. We will have to go back and test a stock ignition configuration but an estimate would be in the 25-30% power gain.

Well, we've been busy. Our mission has changed. We have new things happening in our ATV world. We are creating and developing ignitions to bring slow analog to super fast digital CDI's. We are seeing significant power gains, quicker starts, shorter warm-up times and completely smoother/better overall attitude in machines by simply plug and play to factory wiring. I'll have more info and results to post soon and the models we have already completed. All completed are available at DRWPerformanceATV.com. We are also building wiring harnesses for a few models also with more to come.

Is any body interested in going to ride the dunes? It is a 7 hour trip one way but worth every minute. Let me know.

Don't let them sit. Ride em. This is an older Polaris 2 stroke 2 wheel drive that just hasn't ever been used. A good machine that looked new but dusty. Not a complicated or expensive fix but time comsuming. I fix quite a few machines simply from not being used. Mostly from not having the fuel turned off when put away.

More mud and ATV's
The wrist pin is the least lubricated, highest pressure point in the motor. When it starts to lose lubrication it gets really hot. This rod was not lubricating the wrist pin and you can see where the heat traveled almost to the crankshaft bearing. Catastrophic failure was very close. Change oil and filter before every ride. If you didn't check it when you finished riding last time, then gave the oil and water time to separate, water won't show itself in a simple level check in its early stage of leaking in. A seal's main job is to keep oil in, not water or mud out.

More mud and ATV's
This is water in the cylinder. This machine was horribly and senselessly abused. After it was sunk,it wasn't dried out or lubricated before restarting. Then an attempt was made to quick-fix it with a new piston and rings. This piston was only ran for a few minutes. The cylinder bored itself so the quick fix was pointless.
If you sink your machine, it's ok, don't try to restart it right away, pull the spark plug and fill it with any luricant or water dsipersement, spin it over without the plug and get the water out. Drain the air filter and carb. Put the plug iin and then try to restart it. Water is not a lubricant. If you crank it without doing anything to prevent it, the rings polish the cylinder walls and the rings cannot seal anymore. That's when it starts to smoke. Enough water will bend the connecting rod.
If you mud ride, a spark plug wrench and WD40 should be in your survival kit.(along with a tow rope and ride buddy)

Mud and ATV's
I see alot of this and Have noticed it the most on Hondas. It comes into the motor from around the pull starter, through the stater, once it has reached this point, it is next to impossible to completely fix. Notice the mud is still brown. You would think since it was in the bottom of the engine it would be black from the dirty oil.
Please, if you are mudding a Honda, be sure to address this with some kind of sealant or build a completely sealed cover and delete the pull start all the way.
