Meet Alex Deshotel!
Alex is the sole proprietor of DC Fab & Custom LLC in Broussard.

Alex is a well-seasoned craftsmen who is local to the Acadiana area. His goal for the shop is to provide quality metal fabrication with an emphasis on classic automotive repair and restoration. With 10+ years of experience, Alex has built, repaired, and completed multiple automotive projects and other specialty metal products.

PSA for all fellow hotrodders and classic car enthusiasts.

Before you go on a cruise, make checking the torque on your lugnuts part of your pre trip habits such as checking fluids and tire pressure. Also pay attention to your ride as you drive especially if you get it back from a shop for repairs or if it’s been sitting.

Unfortunately, one of my previous customers had been noticing a low speed vibration for a couple days and recently had a brake job completed by a local company. The pics below were the result. If you think something seems off, pull over and check things over. Luckily, his tire came off when he was close to home and there was minimal damage to the truck and no other vehicles were damaged.

5 minutes added to your pre trip routine may save your ride and wallet one day.

Another completed project out the door. Finished the mechanical restoration of this fine 1981 Chevrolet K10. Went through everything bumper to bumper along with a few cosmetic touches #1981

Here’s a couple recent projects that were completed at the shop. The maroon 1959 Jeep CJ5 had a full mechanical rehab, rewire, and a couple body panels painted. The Blue 1971 Ford Bronco had a full mechanical rehab from bumper to bumper, disc brake conversion, as well as a Sniper EFI conversion. The green 1951 Chevy 3100 had its engine replaced as well as a few small mechanical repairs. #1959 #1951 #1973

Just wrapped up this LS swap on the 1955 Chevy panel truck. Installed a 5.3 vortec and 4L60e, cleaned up the wiring, got the AC system working, and installed a custom hidden hitch receiver. Another completed project and satisfied customer. #1955

Been busy at the shop prepping a few customer cars for Cruising the Coast 2022 as well as putting the finishing touches on a frame off restoration on a 1965 Jeep CJ-5.

Another completed project and satisfied customer. This 1966 Chevy C10 was recently purchased late last year and plagued with problems bumper to bumper including an irritable old EFI system and a nightmare of electrical gremlins. We installed a Holley Terminator X EFI system, completely rewired the truck, repaired several sketchy suspension issues, and a handful of other small issues. This 383 powered beaut is back on the road and ready for the 2022 show season. Some before pics are included to see what we started with. Contact me today for any of your classic ride needs. #1966

Wrapped up this fun project yesterday. The old 700r4 automatic gave up in this customer’s grandfather’s 81 Chevy C10 and he wanted to do something fun with it. I swapped in a nv3500 5 speed with all the associated parts and took care of some TLC items while it was on the lift. Contact me for all your classic vehicle and fabrication needs. #1981
