Starting January 1, 2027, Colorado is changing minor driver education standards for permits to keep our roads (and drivers!) safer.

Ages 15 through 17 must complete a Colorado-approved 30-hour driver education course. While ages 18 through 21 must complete a Colorado-approved 30-hour course or a 4-hour driver awareness program.
