A great friend and business associate shared this tonight.
Sums up a lot of our passion at Ready-2-Roll-Trailers.
“We Don’t Just Build Trailers — We Build Legacies.”
By Rodolfo Castañeda
This industry didn’t come looking for me — I found it when I had nothing left.
In 2008, I was forced to drop out of college. The economy collapsed. My dream of becoming a nurse, backed by a NASA scholarship and paid for by waiting tables, disappeared overnight. It was a blow most people wouldn’t see coming — but I’d already lived through worse.
I was nine years old when I crossed into this country — undocumented, scared, but wide awake. I knew the weight of responsibility early. My parents and my two younger brothers were depending on how fast I could adapt to a country that wasn’t built for me. English wasn’t my first language. But survival was.
I didn’t see myself as a victim. I saw an opportunity.
I wasn’t born into wealth — I was born into urgency.
I joined every school program I could. I became president of the Latin Club. Soccer captain. 4-H member. I was one of the few Latinos in my town to graduate high school and earn a partial scholarship to college. I paid double for tuition. I showed up early and left late. And even when everything fell apart — I didn’t fold.
That’s when a friend called and offered me a job sweeping floors in an enclosed cargo trailer plant.
That was the beginning of everything.
⸻
And here’s what I need my team — and this entire industry — to understand:
We don’t just build trailers.
We build vehicles of independence.
We build tools that help people survive, launch, transport, feed, protect, and build their own dreams.
This industry saved my life. It gave me a second shot. It gave me a reason to go all in when nothing else made sense.
Every time I walk into a plant, I don’t see just steel. I see purpose in motion.
I see welders who support whole families.
I see single moms in purchasing keeping this machine alive.
I see a Latino workforce that never gets the spotlight, but carries the weight of entire companies.
I see leaders rising — right from the floor.
⸻
In 2021, my first son was born. In 2023, my second. Now I don’t just show up for the paycheck — I show up to build something they can inherit.
And if you’re on this team — know this:
This isn’t just a job.
This is a battlefield for greatness.
This is an industry that doesn’t care where you came from — it cares what you can build.
And if you step into the fire with your heart open and your hands ready,
this work will give you everything you were made for.
I’m here because I was forged by pressure.
Because I didn’t let being undocumented define me.
Because I adapted, evolved, sacrificed, and stayed standing.
And now I lead — not because I was chosen, but because I chose this path every single day when it was hard, lonely, and unseen.
This industry moves the world.
So let’s lead it like we know what we’re carrying.
Let’s build like we’re building for something bigger.
Because we are.
