In Feb 2019 we sold our very reliable DynaPac dyno to purchase a linked all wheel drive Mustang dyno so we could tune modern cars with PDK transmission. We were among the first couple shops that received their new Holeshot software system. Being the first is usually not a good thing and Mustang had techs make sevaral trips from Ohio to address software issues. Eventually we were up and running but software issues were a common problem and even though they were related to the document side we were getting accurate and reliable testing.
Over the last several months we were constantly having issues with sensors. Last week the dyno became unusable which, as you can imagine, created a huge log jam. Even though their engineers spent several days online trying to rectify the problem more problems kept coming with no resolution. This is costing us a lot of lost revenue as well as preventing us from finishing projects.
Luckily my rep stepped in and tomorrow they are replacing everything electronic. Basically getting a new dyno under warranty.
I'm posting this because I think this shows what kind of company Mustang dyno is since the warranty period was 1 year which ended March 2020. Hopefully we'll be back up and running by the end of the week. Apologies to those affected but it has been beyond our control.
