After 50 years and almost 100,000 units sold, Don and Roy's Motorsports will be closing its doors for the last time this Saturday. We have sold the business and all franchises to Action Power Sports in Waukesha, WI.
Thank you to all the hundreds of thousands of customers we've had the privilege of serving in that time. Not only customers from our backyard in SE WI, but all the ones who drove from northern Illinois to give us their business. Also all the customers in Michigan at the Novi Snow Show that we attended for 25 years and established so many great relationships. Thank you.
The best compliment we have been given by these MI and IL customers was "I wish you were closer so I could give you all my business". This also holds true for all of our WI customers, many of whom remember buying their first motorcycle from us in the 70s and 80s all the way to their kid’s bikes or atvs recently. We are honored and humbled by the trust you placed in us for your riding need. All of our customers represent and will always be remembered as the Don and Roy's family. These great customers understand, live, and enjoy the powersports lifestyle. How it brings family, friends and new riding friends together. They have been our ambassadors. The vehicles get you in, but all the people you encounter is what keeps them in the powersports lifestyle. Thank You.
Most importantly is the skill and high character of Don and Roy's employees, past and present, who collectively built this sense of family with one another and with each customer. They went out of their way to learn customer names and in most cases something about them. It went beyond their riding needs and experiences. Very special indeed. We had a saying amongst our employees to "Have fun, selling fun and we get paid to do it by our customers", don't lose sight of that. Thank you.
That's how Don and Roy's worked through recessions, the .COM era, another recession, and a pandemic. We collectively adapted and worked through challenges, adversity and GOOD TIMES together.
Lastly I have to give thanks to Adam R. and Mike J. for the last 10-18yrs. They were instrumental in upgrading the culture with customers and nurturing fellow employees and customers to make Don and Roy's what it stands for today. I could have never done it without both of you and your positive influence on everyone. Thank you.
In closing, Ray and I want to thank all of you for placing your trust, your business, and support in Don and Roy's for 50 years. We can't thank all of you enough.
