Northeast Miata Club

Northeast Miata Club Welcome to the Northeast Miata Club! We organize Miata meets, cruises, and other events for enthusiasts in New England.

This club got its start in early 2024, when founder AJ Silvia got together some like-minded Miata enthusiasts in the RI and south coast MA areas to cruise and hang out. Through word of mouth, notes left on cars, and randomly meeting other Miata owners out and about, the club has grown rapidly since its inception – and we are excited to welcome even more members! The Northeast Miata Club will run m

eets and cruises regularly, spring through fall. Be sure to like our page to stay up to date on what's happening!

Hello everyone, we hope you’ve been having a safe and warm winter so far. We have a survey that we would love for you to take, this will help us figure out what to plan for next year and learn more about who our club is composed of! It shouldn’t take more than a minute or two to complete and helps us out a lot. Hope to see you in 2026!

We’ve created this brief survey to both keep track of our events and attendance for this past year, and to find out from our members what they’d like to see in the future.

🎃NEMC TRUNK OR TREAT 2025🎃 We would like to extend an ENORMOUS thank you to every single person who attended our event this year and made it the BIGGEST ONE YET! Our hope was to completely pack the lot, and we did! We had attendees from as far away as Connecticut and Long Island. We must also of course thank our cohosts Underground Culture for use of their lot space, and for allowing the club to use the lounge after our event! You guys rock and we are so grateful for your help and support throughout the whole process! Lastly we must thank each and every one of our sponsors – your support means the world and allows events like this to happen. We hope to see all of you at next year’s event – it will be even bigger and better! (Gorgeous photos by Aislynn Hereth and Kade Peters!)

🎃👻TODAY’S THE DAY! 👻🎃We are so excited to see you! Here are a few things to keep in mind to best enjoy the night.

1. Parking will be tight in order to fit the maximum amount of cars in our space. Some vehicles may be blocked in. If you need to leave earlier than nine, please let us know so that we can situate you in a spot to exit early.

2. This is an event for kids and families! Please do not be obnoxious – that means no revving, burnouts, donuts in nearby areas, or anything of the sort. Also, although we are having a party, please keep your celebrations PG here (no public smoking or drinking).

3. Borderline Takeout is providing FREE food to our car show participants! You will receive a food voucher at the gate upon payment or showing us your prepaid ticket.

4. Awards will be happening at 8pm. You must STAY UNTIL 8 if you want to be in the running for an award!

5. Most importantly, HAVE FUN!!! It’s Halloween and we have a great group of cars and people. Bring your best spooky spirit and be prepared to put smiles on faces. We can’t wait to see you!!!

🌟NEMC MEMBER SPOTLIGHT #8🌟 AJ Silvia! Every Tuesday and Thursday during October to drum up excitement for our big Trunk or Treat event on Halloween, we’re featuring a member and their Miata. Today is our founder, AJ, and his many Miatas over the years.

AJ says:

“After now owning 5 Miatas I can say I understand how Miata is always the answer. I got my first Miata from a friend’s dad in high school and never looked back. I had never sat in one until the day I drove my first NA home, and I couldn’t believe how much fun they truly are.

I enjoyed 73,000 hard miles on my NA and knew once that car was put to rest I had to get another. From there I got my next NA that I still have, and plan on VVT swapping this winter. I also bought an NB to make into a NASCAR-inspired drift car that had a custom one-of-one cage built for it. That car is getting an LS 5.3 that is still a work in progress. From there, I bought my daily driver that I still have today, my white NB named Winona. Last winter I decided I did not want to drive Winona in the snow and purchased a winter NB that was absolutely slammed. I had that for about a year and recently just sold it.

All in all, I love these cars and wouldn’t look back on any of the Miata things I’ve done so far with any regrets. From the friends I’ve made to the parts I’ve bent, from the laughs shared to the tears spent. I wouldn’t do it any other way and I would do it all over again.”

🌟NEMC MEMBER SPOTLIGHT #7🌟 Annie Keller! Every Tuesday and Thursday during October to drum up excitement for our big Trunk or Treat event on Halloween, we’re featuring a member and their Miata. Today is our very own club cofounder, Annie, and her 1996 NA Miata, “Mibu.”

Annie says:

“I could yap for hours about how much Miatas mean to me but I’ll try and keep it concise. In winter 2022, I was going through a really bad resurgence of OCD. Around this time, my boyfriend fixed up his NA Miata and drove to come see me with the top down, even though it was freezing. The Miata brought me joy for one of the first times in the depths of my OCD, and soon after that it was the first car I was ever comfortable driving manual in. From there, I’m sure Jacob had some regrets, because I pulled the whole “you have so many cars, I can totally let the Miata stay at my place if you want” which worked so well that he registered the car so I could daily it. Then, that upcoming Christmas, there was a tiny box under my tree containing Mibu’s second key. He was officially half mine, one of the kindest gifts I could’ve ever received.

From then on, I dailied Mibu, and soon found some of the wonderful people who would become the original NEMC members. We hung out so much I figured, why not make a little logo and some stickers?

Since beginning my journey with Mibu in 2022, we’ve been on so many adventures. Track events, 3 autocrosses, 3 Larz Anderson Miata Days and MiataCons, 2 trips to Tennessee for Miatas at the Gap and driving Tail of the Dragon, trips to NY, NH and NJ, lots of NEMC cruises and meets, and several Lock City Drift events with Jacob. I cannot emphasize enough how much joy this little car has brought into my life, how many meaningful connections I’ve made through Miatas, and how excited I am for the future of this car and this club. By this time next year, he should look a little more like the Miata on our logo!!”

🌟NEMC MEMBER SPOTLIGHT #6🌟 James Robichaud! Every Tuesday and Thursday during October to drum up excitement for our big Trunk or Treat event on Halloween, we’re featuring a member and their Miata. Today is James and his 2012 NC Miata, “Fil.”

James says:

“I’m James and this is Fil, my 2012 Mazda Miata.

I bought her in 2021 and for a while before I bought this I was dead set on getting a Mustang. I test drove this on a whim and immediately fell in love with the car. All thoughts of American muscle went out the window in favor of a little Japanese roadster.

This car was my daily for two years and did everything from winter be**er, to work truck, to weekend cruiser. I learned a lot about working on cars and that it’s not as daunting as it seems. I’ve put many miles worth of dings and dents and dirt and scuffs on the car. Many more to come as I plan on driving this car to 200k miles and beyond.

The plan is to do a full bolt on build and keep her road legal so I can drive as much as possible. If I’ve been good this year hopefully I’ll get a new exhaust for Christmas.”

🌟NEMC MEMBER SPOTLIGHT #5🌟 Jacob Silvia! Every Tuesday and Thursday during October to drum up excitement for our big Trunk or Treat event on Halloween, we’re featuring a member and their Miata. Today is Jacob and his 1995 NA Miata, “Stu.”

Jacob says:

Hi, I’m one of the other people named Jacob in this group and this is my 1995 Miata, Stu!

I got Stu this summer after spending much of the year searching for a good deal on a Miata in my area. After meeting many of the members at Mt Hope Car Club meets and attending some NEMC events last year, I knew I had to join the cult! I mean club, sorry. Annie helped me pick him out and I absolutely love him. With just over 85,000 miles at the time of purchase, it was by far the best example I’d come across for a reasonable price. Shortly after I got the car it needed to get the top replaced, but ownership has otherwise been problem free so far.

Stu shares my driveway with my 2023 Toyota GR Corolla. They’re so different in almost every way so owning both is a ton of fun. I don’t have any major modifications planned for the Miata because I’ve really enjoyed driving it as it is and its appearance always gets compliments at meets and on the road.

So far my favorite part of owning a Miata has definitely been becoming more involved with NEMC! I always love hanging out with other members whether it’s for a meet, a drive, or terrorizing a local Chili’s. I even helped host an event at my house earlier this year!

I’ve had so much fun with this car already and I can’t wait for more!
