Story behind the original Shake-Rattle-Roll. We keeping the tradition going

HOT IN THE 50’S Shake Rattle ’n Roll is a 1953 Lauterbach A Class hydroplane, once driven by National Champion Bob Hamilton of Fort Lauderdale, FL. The boat set speed records and won multiple National Championships in the 1950’s. (Right) Collection curator, boatwright and mechanic Eb Wickes lifts the cowl off of “Shake Rattle ’n Roll” to reveal the boat’s methanol-fueled Ford V-8-60 135 cubic inch engine. He said the boat “joined the ‘100 mph Club’ in 1969.”
