The Boat Rental will be open this Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 7pm weather permitting. We are located between the lodge parking and main boat ramp parking. It is always fun to take the turn and get a look at the water at Lake Darling State Park, but the other side of the road is know as "Butterfly Milkweed Curve". The Butterfly W**d is out and bright now along with abundant Daisy Fleabane and a few Black-eyed Susan. If you get out for a closer look at the obvious ones you get to see the Deptford Pink. That section of roadway is a good example of recovering prairie with lots of native flowering forbs that change through the spring & summer seasons.

The Lake Darling ADA kayak launch is officially open. The Washington Chamber of Commerce and the Friends of Lake Darling cut the ribbon on June 13th. Tickets were drawn for the two kayaks and Connie Crossett and Susan Murphy were the winners. Thanks to the Washington County Riverboat Foundation and our members for making this possible. Help us celebrate the new Kayak Launch at Lake Darling State Park. You are invited to the Ribbon Cutting this Saturday June 13th at 10:30am. You can find the ADA launch located in the main boat ramp area. We will be drawing the winning raffle tickets for the two kayaks just after the ribbon cutting. Thanks to the Washington County Riverboat Foundation and our members for providing funds to make the kayak launch happen, Bring you kayak and take advantage of the new launch!

It's time to get to the Friends Boat Rental this weekend. We will be open from 11 am to 7 pm Saturday & Sunday so you can have fun out on the water.
