... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 7 PM this evening
to 7 am EST Friday...

The National Weather Service in Burlington continues the Winter
Storm Warning for heavy snow... from 7 PM this evening to 7 am EST
Friday.

* Locations... central and southern Vermont.

* Hazard types... heavy snow.

* Accumulations... 8 to 14 inches of snow... heaviest along the
eastern slopes of the Green Mountains.

* Timing... snow will begin across the region this evening. The
snow will become heavy at times during the pre-dawn hours on
Thursday and may mix with sleet. Heavy snow may mix with or
change to sleet at times on Thursday. Snow will taper to snow
showers Thursday night and end by Friday morning.

* Impacts... significant travel and aviation impacts are likely
due to heavy snow... gusty winds and poor visibility.

* Winds... northeast 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40
mph... especially along the western slopes of the Green Mountains
and over the higher terrain.

* Temperatures... lows in the lower 20s. Highs in the lower 30s.

* Visibilities... as low as 1/4 mile possible at times due to
snow and blowing snow.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of
snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. If you must
travel... keep an extra flashlight... food... and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency.
