Who loves the S, L or the R lines of trucks? Post a Pic of yours!!

Pickup trucks were made for work. Until the first purpose-built ones rolled off American assembly lines in the early 20th century, people DIY-ed their own.

Well Mondays winding down, and im about recovered from the weekend event. As some may know from my prior posts I took Saturday morning to go to the Scout Motors Seattle meet and greet event at The Shop Club Seattle that I was invited to.
I went to see the new Scout Traveler and Terra prototype vehicles and also to display an old Scout 2 with about 19 others that brought their old International Harvesters to the event.

It was a pretty cool event and pretty neat to see these prototypes in person. I learned some interesting details when asking questions about certain aspects of the vehicles. One thing stood out, the talk about air ride suspension options that are adjustable!!
They were even open to hearing some feedback as I spoke with one of the ScoutMotors team members about the size of the opening on the rear hatch of the Traveler needing enlarged and a cooler option in the Frunk. The new vehicles are pretty sharp and thought out in design. I really like the lines of the Traveler, and am still not sure why they didn't go full removable top like the newest Broncos have. But they have time to consider all the data they get from feedback and I love that they are open to hearing from professionals like myself that have allot of exposure and time working with the old vehicles and their owners. The excitment from the crowd was neat to see and perhaps the only time in my life I will get so see this process of reviving a Legend taking place. So hats off to them for what they are trying to achieve and the effort to keep the traditions and ways of the old company alive in current times. I hope to create some accessories for the new rigs in the future. ;)

Also great was getting to see many vehicles i have either personally worked on, or supplied parts to their owners for. Nice catching up with some IH people that I became friends with 25-30 years ago and meeting their kids and families. Yea recognizing parts you hand built and sold years and even decades ago that are helping these old Internationals stay on the road today is very satisfying and im honored to be a piece of that history. Having some of you excited to introduce yourself to me, or talk to me was very nice. Thank you for seeking me out and remembering me. To the twin son's that made your momthatshirt with her scout pictured and named on it, you two are awesome. She was so happy itwas great tossed and hear the story about it. πŸ₯°

Mark Ashford, Patrick Decker Dave King good seeing you guys and your families. Randy Morgan it was a pleasure to meet your son and his family :). Dan Hayes it went by so fast I didnt get a chance to congratulate you and Pebbles on getting married, but got to see the cool job you two did on her 800 with the paint. Congrats you two, and wish you all the best.πŸ€—
HOS nice to see you and cool stickers. I'll have to try some of the coffee you roast to show support. :)
To the others I met, nice meeting you and im sure ill hear from you again someday, probaley when you need something for your IH. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜

I agree with some fellow binders that we need to have some kind of NWBinders / IHSTO reunion event sometime. Even if its just weekend at Natches or someplace. A cruise night, etc. :)
My pictures are not that great, but Scott Hesse took some really nice ones & ill post a link to where he posted them in the comment section below. . I wish I could do an open picture folder where anyone can add pictures to it from this weekends event. Be neat to see them all in one place. Not sure but im open to learning how to do that. Think I recall a way on FB to do that.

Anyway just a neat and different kind of event. Pkease feel free to share, comment, and like this post or add your pictures on the comments below.
Happy Harvesting

John

Hello Binders,
SAVE ON SHIPPING OPPERTUNITY.
Im going to take half a day off from moving/setting up, and getting settled and attend the Scout Motors event in Seattle at The Shop Club Seattle this Saturday May 9th from 10am-2pm. All this moving has cut down on work time, and been exspensive, but will be so much nicer and get us back in the groove of things much better.

If anyone attending wants me to bring any parts over with me so you can avoid paying shipping, please let me know what you want by sending me a PM and your phone number so I can call you to discuss your request. Thank you and see you there.
Happy Harvesting

John

Todays tale of the grind:
Ill be driving a 40 foot International Harvester school bus downtown B town today, that has had the seats removed, and loading up a whole bunch of Sheet metal from my storage facility. Good times and who needs a gym when you got heavy IH metal to moveπŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ€ͺπŸ€—πŸ«‘πŸ€ πŸ’―πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ‘πŸΌβœŒπŸΌ
Once this is complete i'll be able to schedule my knee surgery. Super excited for that because bone on bone is no fun. No restfor the wicked... hahaha
