NEW FOUR-WAY STOP COMING TO MORGAN RD AT HWY 113
The Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT) will be changing the two-way stop on Morgan Road and Highway 113 to a FOUR-WAY STOP! Sheriff Stacy Williams has spoken to the DOT as well as elected officials over the last few years to try and get this traffic pattern changed due to the number of bad wrecks and fatalities we have had out there. Sheriff Williams would like to thank Commissioner Danny Elsberry for his dedication and determination in fighting to make that intersection safer for the citizens of Haralson County. Sheriff Williams would also like to thank Senator Tim Bearden as well as State Representative Tyler Paul Smith and the Georgia DOT for their work to make this four-way stop possible.
“As we have gone through this process, there were times it felt like we were hitting a brick wall. But we refused to stop. That intersection at Morgan and 113 is just so dangerous, and we know our citizens deserved better,” states Sheriff Stacy Williams. “I would like to say thank you to every citizen that called and made your voices heard to your state representatives. I would like to thank Commissioner Elsberry for fighting this fight with me. I would also like to thank Senator Bearden, who always answered my call, as well as Representative Smith for helping us be heard to get this traffic pattern changed for the safety of our citizens.”
