Litter harms all sea life. Even sponges. This sponge had actually grown around this piece. I removed it before taking photo or you could’ve seen just how embedded it was.

Starting a new project for 🦀!!! They are desperate for decent shells so I clean the shells they are in and I bring my shell collection out to throw on sandbars , so they have better options. Unfortunately the nice shells are often taken with live hermit inside and I’ve seen people asking if it’s okay to pull hermit out and keep the shell. No. It is never okay. Hermit crabs depend on shells for survival. The moment they are shell-less… they are eaten or attacked. To prevent people from taking shells , I am writing on them and sealing them so they are less desirable. Hopefully this helps. I’ve also started donation shells for my passengers. They can donate one or write on shell. There is nothing cooler, than seeing a hermit walking around in one of these shells. It’s incredible. 🐚🦀💚!!!
