Over 10 years in, and if it’s metal fabrication, Will’s likely had a hand in it. Custom work trucks, buggies, you name it, he’s built it here at Dark Horse.

Outside the shop, he’s chasing the same energy: riding dirt bikes, camping with his family, and tearing up the mountain as a genuinely good skier. Fun fact, he used to compete in skijoring just for the fun of it.

FAQ: Does a truck topper make my bed waterproof?

Short answer: no.

A topper gives you serious protection from the elements, but “water resistant” and “waterproof” aren’t the same thing. Most toppers seal well enough to handle rain and snow, but they’re not designed to be fully watertight.

A topper is one of the best investments you can make for your rig — just know what it does and doesn’t do before you pack your sleeping bag and laptop in a cardboard box back there.

A topper doesn’t mean waterproof.

Most truck toppers are water-resistant, not waterproof. There’s a difference, and it matters when you’re pulling gear out of the back after a Montana downpour.

So if you’re looking for a waterproof result, let us know ahead of time and we’ll talk you through the options on your specific truck.
