Richard's oldest son, Rik, started in the wash bay in 1979 and then selling cars in the early 90s and Richard soon handed over the the business to Rik so that he could focus more on restoring the family ranch on the Brazos River and work on his old cars. In 2006 Rik expanded the Lipscomb Dealerships franchise to include Pruitt Ford and Lipscomb Chevrolet in Burkburnett, TX and later added Lipscomb Powersports Can-Am, KTM & Bobcat in Wichita Falls, TX.
