UPDATE 8/23/22: Two suspects have been identified in this incident. Warrants have been issued charging two juvenile female suspects as adults. The remaining suspect (right, black hat) has not been identified. We applaud our Criminal Investigations Section for working tirelessly on this case. We thank you for the calls and shares.

UPDATE: Good news! Avery is back with his family. The PGPD located the stolen Yorkshire Terrier today at a home in the Landover area. In addition, the PGPD has charged a 16-year-old female in connection with the theft which occurred on June 18, 2022, on Tayside Way in the Landover area. During the course of the investigation, the juvenile was developed as the suspect. She was charged on June 24, 2022. She has admitted her involvement in the theft and attempting to extort the victim for money after the theft.

Please help our detectives from the Division III Landover station identify and locate the suspects who stole a dog Saturday evening. The dog’s name is Avery and is a three-year old black and brown Yorkshire Terrier.

This occurred on Tayside Way at approximately 8:20 pm on June 18th. Video shows two suspects approach the victim’s front porch and steal the victim’s dog.
