TopCops Driving School Teaching Colorado teens how to drive safely. 🚘 👮‍♀️👋

Every classroom and driving instructor at TopCops is an active or retired police officer, first responder, or police-trained and certified instructor. We’ve seen too many accidents involving young drivers, and we’re committed to teaching your teen how to drive safely and the importance of doing so. Our driver education program for teens covers all the rules and regulations of driving and prepares

students for the permit test through interactive lectures, discussions, games, and activities. In addition, your teen will learn how to drive through a tire blowout, how to change a tire, what to do when pulled over, and more! Before the session starts, there will be a short parent orientation with information on how to be a home driving instructor for your teen.

A complete stop means your vehicle's wheels come to a complete stop before proceeding. Rolling through a stop sign—even slowly—is not considered a legal stop.

After stopping, take a moment to:
👀 Look left
👀 Look right
👀 Look left again
🚗 Then proceed when it's safe.

It's one of the most common mistakes we see with new drivers—and one that's easy to correct with practice.

Our Behind-the-Wheel lessons help students build safe habits from day one.

We spend a lot of time teaching teens the rules of the road—but some of their most important driving lessons happen long before they ever get behind the wheel.

Parents have a powerful influence on the habits their teens develop. That means putting the phone away, buckling up every trip, following speed limits, using turn signals, and practicing the same safe driving behaviors you expect from them.

Your teens are watching you. Be the driver you want your teen to become. 💙💛

Being five minutes late isn't an emergency.

Speeding, rolling through stop signs, or rushing yellow lights to save a minute or two isn't worth the risk.

Leave a little earlier, stay patient, and remember—arriving safely is always more important than arriving first.

As Colorado teens head back to school and spend more time behind the wheel, here's an important reminder: Colorado teens can be charged the same as adults if they cause a crash.

Speeding, distracted driving, following too closely and other risky choices behind the wheel can have consequences that extend far beyond a ticket.

Talk with your teen about making safe choices every time they drive. One decision behind the wheel can have a lasting impact.

Your teen says they're ready to drive.

You hope they are.

The truth is, confidence and experience aren't always the same thing.

Professional instruction helps teens build the judgment, awareness, and decision-making skills that only come from guided practice in real-world situations.

Whether your teen is still learning with a permit or has recently earned their driver's license, we're here to help. Our Behind-the-Wheel lessons give permitted drivers hands-on experience with a certified instructor, while our Defensive Driving Course helps newly licensed drivers build confidence, anticipate hazards, and prepare for real-world driving situations.

As students head back to class, our roads get busier with school buses, crossing guards, bicyclists, pedestrians, and young drivers.

Whether you're headed to school, dropping off the kids, or commuting to work, remember to:
✔ Slow down in school zones
✔ Watch for pedestrians
✔ Stop for school buses
✔ Put distractions away

A little extra patience helps keep everyone safe this school year.
