This is just a test weld on some scrap PVC plastic that I did since I'd never welded this material before. The welds on my parts look better than the test piece, but it honestly never ceases to amaze me how strong these plastic welds are. Before I became familiar with the plastic welding process I never imagined I'd ever say this, but, I honestly wouldn't have an issue with trusting life and limb to a plastic weld that is done correctly.

Ordinarily I'm not crazy about running two machines at the same time. I realize every bean counter who reads this is going to gasp at that statement, but sometimes less is more. Doesn't matter if it's me or someone working for me....I just don't like it usually. That being said, today is a bit different.... today I have both the Wells-Index and the EZ -Trak running and it's working like clockwork....the programs and set ups are working perfectly, so no need to waste time babysitting either one of them.

Finished this project a couple days ago and in the process I finally found a good use for this extra thick tap magic tapping oil I bought many years ago and then didn't like. This stuff is SOOOOO MESSY!!! But... I found out on this job that it works fantastic on titanium, which is one of the toughest materials I've ever tapped with the exception of beryllium-copper alloy. We had several 16 hour days on this project to get it done in the timeframe that our customer needed, but when we give our word that it'll be done by a certain date, we do whatever we have to to make that happen. Our word still means something here at K&L Machine and Welding Once again, a big thanks to Kim Phillips for understanding that I had to be in the shop so much for the past week.

As I was working today it struck me that I really need to give a big shout out to my awesome wife Kim Phillips for understanding when the business requires that I be up here in the shop on a Saturday and Sunday both.... especially since she's just had a knee replacement and really isn't anywhere near 100% recovered. Thanks for understanding Kim... you're the best a guy could ever ask for! 😁

Today we have both CNC mills cutting keeping me busy and I definitely have a new most hated material to cut. I've cut titanium before, but never enough to really get to know it.....as bad or worse than stainless ever hoped to be. Kim Phillips

Been a while since we've run any pocket profiles like this. They're fun to cut but a bit tedious to program at the machine.

After a day of plastic welding, and a couple hours of assembly and testing we have one of our 5hp pumps strapped down and ready to go on a pallet to be shipped out to our customer. We have two more pumps to build that we have all the parts and welding done, but we're waiting on the motors for those. But that's perfectly fine because we have other work to keep us busy while we wait for those to be delivered. Kim Phillips
