Chevrolet & Dodge V8 Owners. Pay attention🔊

🚙 We hear it all the time: "My Check Engine Light is flashing, but it drives fine." It's not fine. 🔧

Driving with a misfire on one of these V8 engines is a death sentence for your motor.

We are fully replacing a 5.3L Chevrolet engine this week because the customer drove extensively with a misfire. The damage we found was catastrophic.
Fuel from the misfiring cylinder washed out the oil, leading to total lubrication failure. The result? Total destruction of the:
🔴 Cam Bearings
🔴 Rod Bearings
🔴 Main Bearings
🔴 Crank-Shaft
🔴 Lifter Bore

Check out the photos below to see the reality of this failure. You can see how the metal has failed, destroying the core components of the engine. What could have been a manageable repair is now a full, engine Replacement.

The take-away? A flashing Check Engine Light means STOP DRIVING IMMEDIATELY. A towing bill is a lot cheaper than a new engine.

CAR NOISES & WHAT THEY MEAN

🔊 CLUNK CLUNK (Suspension Noise)

This heavy knocking sound usually appears when driving over bumps or turning. It indicates worn ball joints, control arm bushes, or suspension links. If ignored, it can affect steering stability and tire wear.

🔊 SQUEAL (Braking Noise)

A high-pitched squeal during braking is a classic sign of worn brake pads. Most pads have a wear indicator that creates this sound. Replace pads early to avoid damaging the brake disc.

🔊 HUMMING (While Driving)

A constant humming or droning sound that increases with speed typically means a failing wheel bearing. If not repaired, it can lead to wheel play or even failure.

🔊 KNOCKING (Engine Noise)

A deep metallic knocking from the engine often signals connecting rod or internal engine damage. This is serious—continued driving can cause complete engine failure.

🔊 WHISTLING (Air Leak Sound)

A whistling or hissing noise under acceleration points to a vacuum leak or turbo hose leak. This reduces engine efficiency and can cause poor performance or check engine lights.

🔊 RATTLING (Timing Area Noise)

Rattling from the engine front may indicate a loose or worn timing chain/belt. This is critical—failure can cause valve and piston damage.

🔊 CREAKING (Suspension Movement)

A creaking noise when going over bumps or turning usually comes from dry or worn suspension bushings. Lubrication or replacement is needed to restore smooth movement.

🔊 VIBRATION (Driving Issue)

If the steering wheel or car vibrates at certain speeds, it’s often due to wheel imbalance or uneven tire wear. Wheel balancing solves this quickly.

🔊 CLICK WHEN STARTING

A clicking sound when turning the key usually means a weak battery or faulty starter motor/relay. Check battery voltage first before replacing parts.
