If your vehicle was caught in the recent hail storm, here are a few important things to keep in mind moving forward:

Start by contacting your insurance company and filing a claim.

But just as important, and something many people don’t realize: you have the right to choose where your vehicle is repaired. You are not obligated to go with a shop your insurance company recommends.

Here’s why that matters:

Insurance network (DRP) shops often operate under agreements that focus heavily on cost and turnaround time. In many cases, that can affect how repairs are handled, from the materials used to the processes followed.

For example, paintless dent repair (PDR) is commonly subcontracted, and not all companies provide the same level of quality. The focus can sometimes be on keeping costs down rather than delivering the best possible result.

You may also hear about “lifetime warranties.” The reality is most reputable shops stand behind their work, but the real difference comes down to the quality of the repair itself, the parts used, and the attention to detail.

At the end of the day, this is your vehicle. You deserve to have it repaired properly, safely, and with care, not just quickly.

We are seeing some pretty aggressive hail damage pictures from our area from last night! Anyone needing a busted auto glass covered to keep rain out come by Curtis Glass center and we will put plastic wrap over the busted glass FREE of charge, and remember we work with ALL insurance companies for all of those claims! Some insurances will say you have to use this company or that one, BUT it is your choice!
