I've been seeing a lot of guys getting their bangers ready for racing this year, figured I'd get mine out yesterday. Fired right up, let it warm up and took off down the road, made about a mile and a half to the intersection by our house, running great. Tached it up, popped the clutch at the stop sign, ran out first gear, grabbed second, and brgrahhhhhh accompanied with an oil bath, lol... I guess when the valves stop moving and you seal a cylinder or two that compression has to go somewhere, in this case past the rings into the crankcase and out the breather. Seems the ol fiber cam gear said no more... Perfect timing though, time for the big valve kit, new cam, aluminum timing gear, adjustable lifters, might as well throw on the aluminum head, and as long as the intakes off, might as well add a second carb....

Got a new project dropped off yesterday! Rolled this 58 Caddy into the showroom to give it a home until the work can begin. The giant crate that came with is basically everything out of a 2010 Camaro. 6.2 L with a 6 speed. Going to be a fun project!

This 69' Mustang finally got wrapped up today. Put new floor pans in earlier this summer. Spent the last couple of weeks patching up a bunch of other rotted out spots on the body, in the trunk, and in the frame rails. Installed a Helix IFS front suspension and a rear 4-link kit. Not sure how i feel about the Helix kits. Other than the fact they were missing a few parts, they arent really that hard to put in, but i would much rather use a Heidt's kit for the front for sure. The Heidt's kit has much bigger boxing plates and get located off of factory frame holes so your measuring is a bit easier. Plus their cradle is pre notched for a factory ride height where the helix is more of a universal kit where you have the notch it to your desired ride height. Not a big deal just a little more measuring. As for the rear suspension, not a big deal to install, had to run a tap through all the 4 link bars as the threads were junk in the weld bungs. Also seems to me that the coil overs are also a bit long in the back, could be 3 inches shorter then ran in the middle hole to get the car level with the 2" drop spindles in the front. Right now its as low as it will go and has a little rake to it. Also would like to see that panhard bar level once the car is at final ride height, would require a little modifying to the bracket on the frame side.... Turned out pretty good though, will have to see where she settles at once assembled, then make final adjustments.... On to the next project!

I picked this 28' Model A coupe up a little over a year ago. Believe it or not, i got the thing running and driving, took it around the yard a few times. The plan is to hop up the original 4 banger and basically make it a early style hot rod. Been slowly making progress on it when time allows. Finally had some time the other night to replace the front crossmember and horns on the chassis. I've been staring at it all summer and it was driving me nuts. Who ever had this thing in the past really drove it hard, front rails torn off, welds and patches on the frame everywhere. The headlight bar had torn 4 inch channels in the front fenders from them hopping up and down on the chassis. The front spring had actually ripped up through the crossmember at one point, so they gas welded a 1/2" flat bar into the bottom of it to get the car back up. I was told that it had plates on it from the 60's, so my guess is whoever had it just kept patching her up and she kept going. The only thing i saw that may have indicated why they stopped driving it was the upper radiator outlet ripped off the tank. If only it could tell us the story.....

Alright folks, it been a little while since i made a post on the old Facebook. Three years to be exact. As you may recall i picked up that plasma table in summer of 2018. We spent a lot of time figuring that whole deal out, and basically turned it into another business. In 2020 i had the opportunity to buy the antique store that is connected to my shop, and after gutting it and hauling over 9 tons of demo materials out of it, we peg boarded the entire store and have it as a storage and an online staging area for our little side business. I guess it kept us busy through the whole covid thing to say the least. This fall we should be ready to fill our online store with tons of products. As for the shop, basically the schedule is over 2 years out at this point. I haven't posted any projects in three years either, mostly because i have been putting videos on the ol' Youtube. If you want to check it out the channel is Rotter's Garage. Going to try and start posting project pics along the way again in the future. Currently in the shop, just finished up a ton of metal work on the 69 Mustang, moving on to a completely new suspension setup on it today. Have a Riviera waiting in the shop as well, a Camaro outside waiting for floor pans, a 51 Chevy in the front room waiting for finish work as well as a 58 Chevy, both trucks. A 1930 Dodge roadster also sitting in the showroom that hopefully makes its way into the shop later this week. And a few others waiting to be dropped off. Definitely looking forward to this fall now that things have slowed down for the summer. With that being said, here's a few pics of the shop currently. As you can tell both buildings are in need of a little paint stripping, another project i can hopefully tackle this fall...

Well the 51' is just about done. Thrashed it out over the last month and it turned out great. Independent coil over front suspension, triangulated 4 link rear. 9" rear end. 350 Chevy with a small supercharger. Power brakes, disc front and rear. Heater and air conditioning. Runs great and sounds awesome. Spent a few hours buffing and waxing that original paint and i can't believe how nice that old paint shined up. A few things left to do, put all new glass in, tail pipes from the mufflers out the back. Charge the AC, front end alignment. But she's all cleaned up and in the show room!
