When it rains it pours. Boise has two awesome new mountain bike events and they are both on the same day. Here is some info on the off road triathlon that Adam Wirth is putting on. Broken Spoke is putting on a marathon xc race at Bogus as part of the Knobby Tire series as well. Both events should be well organized and worth supporting.

Ok Boise folks or anyone who wants to help get a great event off the ground; my wife Kellie Wirth and I have made the decision to pony up for a Les Bois Off Road Triathlon post race party July 28th at our house where I will provide a keg of good beer if we can get the participant list to 100 participants/teams. I know there are some people on the fence and maybe some people who haven't considered doing it, so got to http://www.lesboistri.com to register for the event and let's get to that 100 person mark so we can exchange stories post race over a few beers at our house.

4/28 Course Description: Start west of and adjacent to the bmx track going south (away from the park). Go about 100 yards on what will become a double track and look for a single track on your left (there is a bunch of rusted junk near the turn). Ride this single track around to where it comes out above the lower parking lot and the bmx track. Continue and take your first right which will climb, take your next right which will put you on twisted sister (the lowest trail that traverses across the park), when you pass under the man-made jump take an immediate right. Ride this descent but racers must ride around the man-made dirt jumps. Ride arounds are pretty clear and I believe there are four jumps. Turn left at the end and climb up to your first left (avoiding the steep climb). Turn left again to access Dees Chaos. Take Dees back across the park (Dees and Twisted Sister run somewhat parallel one another). go right at the junction and stay on this trail until you come out above the four cross track. There is a little single track that runs between the 4-x and the big sand berm. Near the end of this short descent the course will cut onto and across the 4-x track and then come out near the upper parking area. From here go left to access the connector trail. Take your first left to access the short track trail (winds there sage brush) always staying right. This trail will come out on the connector trail go left and then immediately drop down to ride around the velodrome sand area and make your way back to the start finish.
