Looks like one Happy Guy!!

Dick Sola has given his time and support to the old D-Class then the C-class, then the Super 6 class and then some to the non-winged class, since the mid 1960's.

Grand Opening of Thunder Ridge Dray Strip near Star Idaho.
I was there watching these two super mods try drag racing. Anyone else there that day? With only one gear, per a in/out box as the transmission, the drivers, Ken Hamilton and Brent Nyborg had to slip the clutches hard to get off the line. After the 2nd run both cars needed a new clutch. I've been looking for this picture for years. August 3rd 1968 Racing Wheels magazine. The Pink Lady roadster built by Grant King for Art Sugai. The Brent Nyborg car was a Malloy copy owned by Doc. Havlerson of Emmett Id. Doc built 2 cars off of the original Malloy red rooster car which he had for a couple of years with Bob Beverly driving it. Classic photo. Tim Wallace
