New OE coils on a 2019 Jeep Cherokee that I replaced one of prior, with OE spark plugs. The coils had been replaced by a previous mechanic but with aftermarket parts and seems like the newer the car the more sensitive they are too differences in resistance and output and maybe even thermal conductivity. It just continually had misfires I think we fixed the issue. I had just been in here last week so no charge for labor; I'm just making sure this thing finally runs good for the gal so she can enjoy it.
I'll be getting the dog house of the van to do some look over and fine tuning after the engine replacement, but ol Deloris has been running beautifully and boy the extra power is exciting. I'll post more pics
Toodaloo for now

Hwhat in carburetion?! Having a little too much fun over here but I think I need to raise my work bench up a few inches, being just slightly hunched over is way worse than leaning over under the hood of a car.
But rebuilding this carburetor for Jason, a Holley 750HP and oh these newer holes are so much nicer than the old stuff I'm used to; might have to throw it on the van "just to dial it in" 😝
Seriously though, thinking about putting a AC unit in my garage. Speaking of AC, I should be getting the vans air conditioning back up and running this weekend and boy that'll be nice. The last few days of using it have been fantastic and the engine swap has more than proven worthy, or maybe it's just my work that's worthy LOL either way it's freaking awesome

The van is aliiive!!! Tye only thing I haven't wrapped up is the AC hoses, since the engine takes up more space the original didn't fit so I'll be working on that asap, especially with how warm it's gonna be shortly. But damn it feels good to have that project finished! More pics soon

Well, nearly a week of busting ass has gotten me to hear the rumblin V8 now stuffed into the ol work van! Very little to finish up the project; new radiator, and fabbing a tailpipe is all that remains to get her back on the road. She's a little spicy but still pretty mellow, and should get me to job sites much quicker and without burning 3 quarts of oil a week!!!
Apologies for seeming absent this past week, I have been elbows deep in the van since Friday, and took the week off (mostly) to get this project done. Still, there have been numerous calls and texts I haven't responded to, due to being away from my phone, as well as my phone taking a ride across town on the rear bumper of another one of my rides; it nearly made it across town before being pancaked on Franklin by who knows how many cars, but I have the replacement and shall be getting all my ducks back in a line by this weekend.
Thanks again to everyone for the continued support and entrusting your cars needs to my capable hands and back!
Til next time...

Well another damn fine week in the bag! I'm taking the rest of the day off to start tearing into the work van, getting the ol v6 out and the new Vortec 355 in! It's almost too purty for a work van that'll hopefully never be seen but that's how I do it so here we go!

2014(ish) EZ-GO golf cart. Sat through the cold times, charger plugged in, no start. All four batteries tested at less than 8 volts each. After a bit of research, the OEM charger, which I did check for function, didn't seem to be doing anything for these batteries, and since the switch to AGM by the customer this last fall, I'm wondering if that charger doesn't like these batteries. Flooded lead acid batteries, which is what was originally installed, require a different charging rate then sealed lead acid, or AGM, batteries. Lithium batteries also take a specific charge profile to ensure deep charge.
Either way, the batteries are getting a full charge, and of course tested afterward, then if everything checks out I'll reinstall into the cart and give her the beans and make sure the charger works. Again, the vehicle has to have proper juice before anything else. I shall return...
Till next time
