๐Ÿ‘€ Can you guess the problem?

This Range Rover wasn't cooling as well as it used to, so we went out to diagnose the issue.

In the video, you can see the recirculation button being pressed while watching the recirculation door. Instead of opening and closing properly, the door would only move slightly before dropping back into the outside-air position.

We found the recirculation door motor wasn't actuating properly, preventing the system from controlling the airflow the way it should.

๐Ÿพ Teddy's Tip: When your A/C isn't performing like it used to, don't always assume it just needs more refrigerant. Proper diagnosis is important to find the actual problem.

Did you guess it?

๐Ÿ”ง Sometimes things don't go exactly as planned.
About four months ago, we replaced a radiator for this customer. Unfortunately, the replacement radiator failed.

When something like that happens, we believe in standing behind our work and taking care of our customers. We covered the warranty repair with no questions asked and got their vehicle back on the road.

๐Ÿพ Teddy's Tip: It's not just about doing the repairโ€”it's about standing behind the work and taking care of your customers when things don't go as expected.

That's how we believe business should be done. ๐Ÿ”ง๐Ÿš—

๐Ÿ‘€ Can you spot the problem?

We were out at a customer's home for a routine inspection on this Jeep Grand Cherokee when Teddy put his nose to work and found a leaking water pump.

A water pump leak may start small, but if it's ignored, it can lead to coolant loss, overheating, and potentially a much bigger repair.

๐Ÿพ Teddy's Tip: Don't ignore coolant leaks! If you notice coolant under your vehicle or your coolant level dropping, get it checked before a small problem turns into a major one.

โ˜€๏ธ No cold A/C? Here's what we found!

This week, Teddy sniffed out a leaking A/C condenser that was causing the vehicle to lose refrigerant and, of course, lose its ability to blow cold air.

A small A/C leak can quickly turn into a bigger problem, especially when you're trying to keep cool in the South Carolina heat.

We diagnosed the leak, replaced the condenser, properly serviced the A/C system, and got the customer back to enjoying cold air again. โ„๏ธ๐Ÿš—

๐Ÿพ Teddy's Tip: If your A/C isn't blowing as cold as it used to, don't just keep adding refrigerant. Find the leak and fix the problem properly.

Low Country heat is here, and there's nothing worse than driving without cold A/C.

Whether your air conditioning isn't blowing cold, has weak airflow, or just isn't keeping up with the heat, we're here to help. We service and repair both R-134a and the newer R-1234yf A/C systems using professional recovery and recharge equipment.

If your A/C isn't performing like it should, think twice before reaching for a DIY recharge can. Those cans can't accurately measure how much refrigerant is already in the system, so it's easy to overcharge or undercharge the system. In addition, some recharge products contain sealants or other additives, such as stop leak, that can contaminate the A/C system and potentially damage expensive components.

The proper way to service an A/C system is to recover the refrigerant, pull the system into a vacuum to verify there are no leaks, and recharge it with the exact factory-specified amount of refrigerant.

Give Fetch A Wrench a call and get on the schedule today. Stay cool this summer! โ„๏ธ๐Ÿš—

Why you should ALWAYS double-check your work!

We were called out for a vehicle that had trouble accelerating and was hard to start. After scanning the system, we found a mass air flow sensor code along with lean codes on both banks.

When we opened the hood, we found the air box hadn't been installed properly, allowing dirt to bypass the air filter. After removing the mass air flow sensor, we found a small piece of what looked like mulch lodged inside one of the sensing elements.

We properly reinstalled the air box, cleaned the mass air flow sensor, and the vehicle ran perfectly.

This is a great reminder that faster isn't always better. Routine maintenance should be more than just changing the oilโ€”it should include a thorough inspection of your vehicle. Taking the time to check suspension components, steering, brakes, fluid leaks, tires, and other safety items can catch small problems before they become expensive or even dangerous.

At Fetch A Wrench, every maintenance service includes an inspection because we believe your safety is just as important as your oil change.
