Banger of a day !! Hot Action and Close Finishes, new winners, awesome food and FUN !! We had another new racer show up who will be building a track as well, Daren Morris and his Fiance Jan stopped in with their pup Mackie and she was giving our race Dawgs Jax and Sarge all they could handle. We hope you guys bring her back, she was a hit here.

Up first would be our new Super Trucks class and we would see tons of excitement and close racing with this new deal. We would go green to checkers in this class proving that we have a field of fantastic drivers. Dick Wolbers would be the winner of the first feature ever run for this class at Lug Nut Speedway , Terry Kelly Jr. would get second and Mitchell Kelly would be hot on his heels, fourth would be Nick Barnett followed by Mark C. These things are a blast run and most of them are pretty loose in the corners making them hard to drive with a little bit of rubbing truly a good time.

Sprint Cars would be up next and Nick Barnett would show the way in the feature after grabbing a great lane. Mitchell Kelly with chase him down and damn near get around him but just didn't have enough at the end. Terry Kelly Jr would finish third and his 25 sprinter. And getting forth would be Dick Wolbers and grabbing the 5th spot would be Kevin Klein in his K2. We would also go green to checker and this class again proving we have some great racers in this feature.

Outlaw Late Model would be up for its attempt at a green to checker race that we would not get there as we had a few wrecks in the middle. But it would be Mark Cothron day to get it done. He handled the field through the entire race actually saw some of the excitement and some of the crashes we had that was able to power back through and grab the win and his first win with us. Congratulations Mark you did a great job. Mitchell Kelly would end up second and his dad Terry would end up third has the two would switch cars for the day. Fourth would be Matt Voss it has badass number 13 Mustang, follow to the finish by Nick Barnett and his Purple People Eater😁.

Last class of the day would be our Late Models and those that think you don't have to drive these cars that we race on our tracks need to think again. Check out the pictures above that'll tell you what it's like these cars are fast in the handful the entire 25 laps. We have to do a little bit in the end it would be the Wiley Veteran Dick Wolbers in his 31 Late Model followed to the finish by Nick Barnett and Mark Cothron would get third. Grabbing the final two spots would be Terry Kelly Jr and 4th and Mitchell Kelly and his hot red 25.

I want to personally thank you guys that race with us all season and those that make it when they can we appreciate every one of you. We are thankful to have guys like you and our group because you are true racers and absolutely love the speed that these cars generate. Without you guys we wouldn't be able to run the program that we do and we are thankful for each and every one of you. Next week will be at Sunset Speedway please follow the SARA Slot Racing Group page for details. Thank you guys for making Sundays such fun. Until next time race on !!

Kevin Klein is on a mission. Truck looks great!! Nice work as always, this is what I love about what we do. Our group is creative, we bounce ideas off each other. I really love that we run different stuff. Even though it is the same chassis, changing things up keeps it real and fun. Doing these like this where we can swap bodies and run several different classes is so cool. Thanks Guys for making this hobby fun again for all of us !!

Racing today was really fast There was a lot of good competition. We shared some good food, and a lot of laughs and even had a couple new guys with us. We have a lot of fun with this group and we only had 10 people today that we had the fun of a hundred people.

Our first class of the day were our Big Mods, where Dick Wolbers and Mitchell Kelly would have quite the battle for the future win. Mitchell would lead for about the first half of the race and then dick would make the pass, and continue the lead all the way to the checkers getting the win. With Mitchell and second and Terry Kelly Jr. Grabbing third and his 39 modified, picking up the four spot would be Roy Schmidt and rounding out the field would be Nick Upmeyer

Our Outlaw Late Models would be up next, and it would see the field as the most competitive it has been this entire year with cars running side by side four and five wide to start the race. There would be some bumping and banging along the way but in the end it would be Terry Kelly Jr after making a daring pass to get the lead he was able to stretch it out on the field grabbing the wind over a hard charging Nick upmeyer follow closely by Mitchell Kelly for third and coming home 4th would be Matt Matt Voss in his black Mustang followed closely by Dick Wolbers in his Camaro.

Vintage Late Model was up next, and today we did something a little different we ran foam tires on the rears and let me tell you that was exciting. We still had great racing once the guys figured out how to drive the cars, they kept getting faster and faster all day long and the eventual winner being Terry Kelly Jr would come from the D Main to pick up the win, after figuring out his car he was able to take the lead early in the race followed by a very hard charging Dick Wolbers keeping Kelly honest and waiting for him to make a mistake. Getting third would be Roy Schmidt in his 66 and fourth would find Nick Barnett and his beautiful 67 Nova followed to the line by Matt Voss and his black Mustang. What a fun race it was showing that anybody can win with these cars a lot of it is luck and figuring things out on the fly but everyone seemed to have a great time running on the foams so we will do it again.

Vintage NASCAR was up next and for the third time today Terry Kelly Jr would grab the win follow closely by Roy Schmidt in his 54 car. Those two cars were neck and neck the entire race just waiting for one another to slip up. In the end Kelly would cross the finish line first Roy second and coming in third would be Mitchell Kelly in his Mountain Dew 11 right behind him was Dick Wolbers and rounding out the field would be the 43 of Landon Cesar who has made huge moves in his short career.

A big thank you to all who came to race and have fun, because that's what we do this for. First timer Connor Morrissey had a ton of fun and ran very well for never doing it. A huge shout out to my wife Kim Kelly for the delicious food and cookies and just taking care of us boys while we play with our toy cars. We will see you all next week at Sunset Speedway in Davenport/Blue Grass for some fast action on that feisty four lane High Bank Speedway.

Racing this week at Lug Nut Speedway. We will be running Big Modifieds, Vintage NASCAR, Vintage Late Model and Outlaw LM.

There will be a twist with the Vintage Late Model cars. Lug Nut Speedway will be providing foam rear tires for them and we will put those on the rear. You will get to pick your tires in order you draw at sign up. The tires are all the same size same width and must be put on the cars and then the car's placed in the infield. No touching No rubbing, take them from the infield and put on the tire cleaner then put them down and run.

We tested this yesterday with three or four cars and the slower cars were able to run right with the fast ones. It's going to take trigger control and finesse to get these things around. We think it's going to be a blast for everybody. I have 15 pairs for Sunday which is our max group size we will run with. No piling weight in the rear either. Simply take your tires off in normal race trim and swap them and run

So get here early and sign up, We Open at Noon and Race at 1. Lug Nut Speedway, come for the Fun, Stay for the Racing.

Second race day on the Sprints, all of our tracks have more than enough power to run these, but they are not very linear as far as power transfer goes. We have made a collective decision as of yesterday to try different motors. We tested this morning and use the MidAmerican 25k motor and it is way better then the 30k Stomp. It has much more throttle control and not as much magnet and is very smooth and a tick slower than the Stomp. These motors cost about 10 bucks a piece and we all think that it will make the racing better. But remember these are Open Wheel cars and with Open Wheel cars come crashes. We will give the new motors a go possibly at Sunset Speedway or when we run the sprint cars next. Gearing and everything will remain the same. Picture of the motor is provided so the switch can be made.
