After selling the '79 Sportster frame I converted to a hardtail it's time to get back on the Evo Big Twin build. During the move some wiring was torn loose. This build was with a purchased wiring harness. I much prefer to wire the entire bike myself as these harnesses fit several models. Everything is now working so tomorrow I will solder and wrap. I plan to have her running again soon.

Going through these 2 Ironhead clutches one can see a visible difference. The '79 clutch, right, came out of an engine where the tr**ny exploded and put a hole in the right side case. The dark color is from heat. I imagine the steel plates are warped. This bike was abused.
Clutch plates on the left, from an '80, have little discoloration or warpage. Friction plates look very useable.

My Sportster project is getting near paint and assembly so I am planning a winter project. I was given this fender about 25 yrs ago by a company doing a prototype for Indian Motorcycles and plan on using it. This baby is huge.. I am not into wide tires so I will narrow it from its 10" width. Not sure how I will trim the skirts until I get the frame going.
