1990 Huffaker Ferrari 308/288 IMSA GTU power train control system updating project finished.
In this project, we replaced the old EFI Technology system with Motec M800 unit alone with M&W CDI ignition system. In order to provide a more precise and stable control, we developed a new triggering system to allow sequential injection. Thank you from for such a great support!! Perfectly demonstrated the definition of being intelligent and good looking.
As always. Thank you to my teacher from@rb_motorsports_engineering to giving me this opportunity. Had a lot fun developing this project with you!
Looking forward to the next challenge.

That was a tough one. Very fast pace. Haven’t seen this much of math and equations since high school. Didn’t think I could make it… until later my Asain blood woke up. Very informative seminar. Makes me understand what I know and what I don’t know. Also have several points that revolutionize my understanding. I feels stronger and more confident now. (As if took knowledge vi**ra. Claude is such a fun character and I’m sure he would like this metaphor 😁

A complete update of engine management system for Huffaker Ferrari 308 IMSA GTU. The original system seems running with some reliable issue so we updated it to a Motec M800 and work in conjunction with a CDI system from M&W ignition. A new harness is tailored for this new system to mate with the chassis. Will have everything assembled and put on dyno soon.

Cosworth KENT camshaft wearing case study

We are working on a very interesting case study these days about an abnormal wear issue on newer Kent camshafts. With the great help from our friend and from GP-Technical Equipments, we were able to test and analyze the Rockwell value of both camshafts, as well as their elemental compositions. It is super excited to see the test result shows not a significant difference in hardness (and honestly not a super consistent reading). However, a noticeable different in alloy compositions with the Crane cam carries higher Manganese, Chromium, Molybdenum, silicone than the problematic Kent Cam, it is reasonable to believe this alloy is harder and more abrasion resistant. We will continue to study this case and keep the fun going.
Here’s a link of the full testing video.

Thank you again and from GP-Technical Equipments for such a great help to this case study!! If anybody ever comes up with any need to the precessional testing and analyzing equipment, please check these guys!! Local business, lovely guys!! Carries same passion to cars, bikes and all the stuff that guys love!

All about the Ref.

Well, we recently working on a classic Ferrari 308 GTU project aiming to completely remove the current unreliable controlling system and redevelop a new one from scratch. With the original system taking apart we found both Ref and Sync were triggered by magnets. It was ok executed however with only 4 mags on the crank, it would be very difficult to run sequential injections due to the low resolution. Therefore, I developed a new triggering system which carries 24 triggers. However, with the components created, I disliked it due to the high total mass (675 gram) and 8 bolts mounting system would create higher tendency to develop crack on the flywheel. After some calculation and discussion with , I finalized the design to a 12 tigger, 6 bolts design. 25% reduction in mass and 6 bolts are more than enough to take the shear load between the trigger wheel assembly and the flywheel. The overall packaging of this new triggering system land within the frame of the original magnetic system.
The whole trigger wheel assembly has 3 components. The shutter wheel, signal blocking plate, and spacer. They are chemically bonded together and surface treated with anti corrosion coating.
It seems very simple but we have learnt a lot through the development process.
Much appreciated to:
for all the tech specs of the sensor.
for all the tech support and design suggestions. (And A LOT MORE)
for being such a professional meanwhile supportive good man to provide such a fast, strong and reliable cutting service!!

Lotus Europa TwinCam cylinder head retro project

It is a rather interesting project. The original Europa has its alternator driven from the back of the intake camshaft. This means special long camshaft and special head that can accommodate this cam driving configuration. In this case, a very limited (and getting harder to find) “Stromberg” head that’s carries a merged intake runner design with twin “Stromberg” carburetors. Although people had a lot evidence to show that these two types of head designs don’t have tremendous flow different, the limited part resource of Stromberg carbs as well as their run abilities compare to webers make the regular individual runner Twincam head a lot more desirable to the performance applications. However, they don’t allow the alternator to be driven off the camshaft. So is there a way to make this work? Yes. Many people completely shave the merged intake runner off and adapt a new individual runner manifold. OR, here we trying to achieve. To provide a kit that allows the regular twin cam head to be modified and able to accommodate the cam drive mechanism.

Much appreciated for all the trust from my dear friend/teacher to letting me play with this project. It was fun.

Ferrari 330 V12 EFI conversion project.

It’s been a while since this project completed. Never got a chance to make a post for it. The goal is to create a simple and reliable EFI system for the classic Ferrari V12 system and REMAIN all factory layout and appearance so no one can tell it’s a EFI conversion from the outside.
It is super challenging and fun because no one ever done this on the classic Ferrari V12 streetcar before (at least not successfully) One other company tried it and failed and change the intake layout from the original 3 downdraft carb to the factory high performance 6 carb layout which is way easier like day and night difference (we found out in a really hard way)
So 3 knuckle heads, one Ferrari specialist, one professional engine builder, and their Asain sidekick (me) took this challenge and dive right into the chaos. After going on, off Dyno 6 times, changing layout for the fuel delivery system and tempering with the wiring and software setup, finally got it done. All 3 of us had different level of hair loss and mental damage from this 🤣🤣 but again, another enemy conquered. Ready for the next challenge.
Thanks to my teacher and letting me have fun with this project. And HUGE thanks to Simon from for pages and pages of trouble shooting, diagnosis and suggestions for this project!! Again, for project like this, Motec system is so versatile and became the essential tool to put everything together.
