Kenmore frontload washer that wouldn't dispense fabric softener. This is a regular problem if you don't run hot water through your machine periodically, fabric softener or not. The water comes in from the top of the dispenser area, hits the detergent or softener and splashes everywhere inside causing a buildup over time and the growth of anything that like damp areas. I typically have to remove this dispenser to clean it in the sink. You can spray it with a degreaser, white vinegar or citric acid solution. We use citric acid and hot water cycle to help clean the inside of washers and dishwashers. It will eat the biodegradable gunk left behind by your clothes and detergents. One thing we never recommend is fabric softener, unless you want to see us sooner for repairs.

GE Profile gas cooktop with electric oven. This is a great option for anyone who's used to baking with electric but lives in an area that loses power often throughout the year. The power goes out and you can still use the cooktop.

Bake, broil and warming drawer not working on this unit. Resistance on all 3 elements was good but voltage was all over the place. Broil 40v, bake 0v, warmer 9v. Tested control board and it was getting 120v but not sending it passed the power relay. Unfortunately due to the age of this unit the board is no longer available.

Samsung dryer not heating. No wire diagram for this unit so I couldn't diagnose it at the control board. Pictures show how many parts need removed in order to get to the element and safety switches for the heating system. While inside the unit I found some previous repairs not completed properly so I completed them so the machine wouldn't prematurely ruin the rollers the drum sits on. One of the repairs was bending the element box back as square as I could get it. These are things that only take an extra minute or two to make sure everything is in order before you button up the unit to retest it and finalize your repairs. Vacuuming out the dryers is something else that only takes a few minutes. I was able to tell the customer what repairs were done previously based on what was left behind and not cleaned up. Make it look like you were never there.

Dryer heats but takes a long time to dry. Timer also won't shut off, door has to be opened to stop unit.
Tested the timer and all settings are good, no pits in contact points. Lint screen is full and is a possible cause. I ran the dryer for a few minutes, opened the door and stuck my hand inside. It was warm inside but not hot enough. Started testing all the fuses on the heating system and found the issue with the element. The reason why the unit was still heating some is because this is a dual coil so one side was getting enough voltage to warm the dryer just not properly heat it.

Washer with no water entering into tub. I fixed the washer issue by replacing the water inlet valve that was impacted with sediment. I saw they had a whole house filter and asked when the last time it was changed. They didn't know what that was and have owned the house since 2003. I pulled the filter, drained the lines and replaced it with a new filter. The issue with the washer may happen again because of the amount of sediment already in the water lines. Sometimes we need to go outside the unit to figure out what may have caused the issue and address that issue or inform the customer what another company would need to do to address it if it's outside of our scope of work.

Drain pump quit working when tub was full of water. I only use a hand pump to pump the water out so I don't have to carry an electric pump with all my other tools. It takes about an hour of nonstop pumping to remove all the water. I could've done without that knowledge. I found the source of the issue inside the drain pump, a sock. The other issue it was having was burning smell. This was also caused by the sock because the pump is attached to the main drive motor and was over working it. Replaced the pump and all is right with the world again.

Samsung washer with drain issue. This specific model only has the drain pump assembly available for repair at $175, unless you have worked on these models and know an alternative pump part number that works for $75. I also wanted to point out that if you need to remove the drain filter door be careful (broken by customer). Some of the doors have the one side longer, usually the right side. This one was pulled on the wrong side and broke as a result.

Refrigerator not making ice and water doesn't come out of dispenser. Replaced water filter and that took care of water issue but not ice issue. Sealed system needed recharged and inlet valve replaced.
