Something as simple as using white lithium grease on the plastic engine cover leads to a broken valve cover. White litho dries and sticks after a while. Causing the plastic valve cover to split when the engine cover is removed next. Heat and weather already weaken the plastic valve cover so cracking the vc is easier. Most don’t know that this little mistake can eventually cause the engine to run funky here and there. Next the owner see an oil leak. Thinks it’s a different problem. Trades in car. The most common issue in our industry is human error.

Had fun with this one. We have been cleaning this car up for a couple years now and we have knocked out some major work on this car throughout that time. Engine bay side of this repair needs a little attention and finishing to complete the job. The turbo and exhaust manifold are coming out for a re-gasket next so that’s when we will do the inside 👌

Spent a few hours prepping a new set of headers for them to just be put back in the box and returned. Temporary fix on the old headers until the proper size headers are acquired. Would have been nice to have a new set on the car but patience is key and performance is important.
