Be careful who you take information from on the internet! A lot of of the followers we have follow us because we put out factual, proven information, especially in ways that a lot of people don’t think about or realize. This is not intended to bash anyone, but be a chemistry lesson! There’s much more to auto body in general than just reading a TDS and believing in whatever it says or taking information from someone who’s “been doing this for 40 years”. Times change and so do the products. In this industry, things are constantly changing, and if you don’t keep up with those changes, you will fall victim to misinformation. We’ve always been firm on if you’re going to do something do it right, if you’re going to teach something teach it properly. Here we’re going to explain the differences between polyester, urethane, and epoxy primers and why a urethane and polyester will absorb water and why polyester and urethane are not a truly DTM product. Go ahead and argue away in the comments, but you can’t argue with science when you truly understand the products you’re using and the “why and how” in it all.
