TIME TO DIAL IT IN!

Today we’re tuning a 2015 6.2l Chevy Silverado equipped with a Magnuson supercharger and an upgraded pulley setup!

With Montana’s elevation, pump gas, and HP Tuners, we’re dialing in the calibration to get the most out of this setup while keeping drivability and reliability in mind.

The goal? Maximize performance and see what this Silverado is capable of!

Today we show some of the down and dirty of the machine side of things when it comes to engine building.

Line honing (also called align honing) a block

Whether the main bearing bores are out of round, misaligned, or outside factory specifications, or the engine has experienced excessive heat, damage, this maybe something to consider!

The goal: Proper main bore alignment, correct bearing crush, and consistent bearing clearances to help protect the crankshaft and bearings under load.

Keep in mind, not every LS block needs line honing. The main bores should always be measured first, and machining should only be performed when measurements and specifications call for it. Excessive or unnecessary machining can create more problems than it solves.

A quality engine build starts with accurate measurements, proper machining, and attention to the details that matter.

The Key to a Perfect Tune? It Starts with a Healthy Engine!

Unfortunately, mechanical issues are a common part of the tuning process. Any experienced tuner knows one thing for sure: you can't tune your way around a mechanical failure!

From exhaust leaks and fuel leaks to faulty components and everything in between, even the smallest issues can have a major impact on engine performance, drivability, and tuning results.

The truth is, getting an engine to run at its best isn't always just about the tune. It's about identifying and correcting the underlying problems to ensure everything works together as it should. 💪

Today's reminder? Sometimes, the smallest details make the BIGGEST difference!

This time, the culprit was a destroyed, leaking fuel pressure regulator. A simple component that can cause major headaches if overlooked!

Diagnose first. Repair what's wrong. Then dial in the tune. That's how you get results!

WHEN GM’S DISPLACEMENT ON DEMAND FAILS, SOMETIMES IT’S TIME FOR A DIFFERENT GAME PLAN!

This customer brought us their 2011 GMC Sierra after experiencing a failure with the factory Displacement on Demand (DoD) system. Instead of going down the same road again, they opted for a different solution!

Out with the old setup and in with a non-DoD 6.0L engine!

But swapping engines is only part of the equation. To make sure everything runs the way it should, they brought it to us to get the new engine and injectors properly tuned and calibrated to work with the factory GM ECU.

Because dropping in a different engine is one thing — making sure the computer knows exactly what to do with it is another!

Another project, another custom calibration, and another truck getting back on the road where it belongs.

We’ve been a little quiet lately, but don’t worry… we didn’t loose an engine with boost jenner, or get lost somewhere in the staging lanes!

We’ve been out wrapping up the 2026 racing season, putting in the work at Untamed Asphalt, chasing horsepower, and doing what we love. But now it’s time to hang up the racing helmet (at least for a minute) and get back to business!

We have the Chevelle back in the shop to address several issues that were overlooked during the orginal build. Our goal is to make sure everything is properly corrected and completed to the standard it should have been the first time. Things are coming around in our favor now.

Don’t get us wrong—we still love our tried-and-true LS. However, every now and then it’s nice to get our hands on something outside the norm and put our touch on it.

Different platform. Same obsession with making horsepower. 🏁💪
