The new year has definitely started out with a bang. The shop is full and some really nice jobs In the door. 2024 is going to be a blessed year for The Rusty Fender.. Also I am looking for a tech to do some prepping and just have an extra hand in the shop. If anyone is interested and looking for work, come see me, or call me. Definitely no shortage of work here... Got so.e parts painted for a Honda 110 cc restoration I'm doing for my dad, just a few pieces left then I can start the reassembly process. And the 58 GMC is getting painted finally. Nice to see things really moving in a good direction. Have a great week and happiest of the new year.

Today i have to say goodbye to this beautiful 57 Fairlane. I have really grown attached to her. We have had some fun and I tried everything I could to make her mine. Just couldnt make the funds... And so Today she takes a long trip to a new home in Arizona. I will miss this one for sure.

I love to see the expressions on my customers faces when the job is finally done. Them knowing they got way more than they expected. Well today was another one of those blown away customers. His 442 is gorgeous, and fixed correctly. Some before and after picts..

The 68 olds.442 is so very close to the paint stage. Everything has gone pretty smooth with repairs, but that quarter panel has taken a bit to get done. Their is no really good replacement panel for a convertible, and I like to keep as much original sheet metal if possible.. This one was a skill challenge for sure. Multiple body lines and some very distinct curves and shape of this panel. But I got it. Second prime and now looked really good. We are also going to paint correct the whole car. Lots of small repairs over the years have left slightly different colors throughout the car. I'm excited to see this one all new paint. It is gonna be a busy week for sure. If their is any time left in the week, stripes just might go down an the Cabellero.

We pushed hard to have the T-bucket up and ready for a 4th of July delivery. We got everything done and the car looks great. Fixed alot of problems this car had when it showed up. Fuel delivery issues, steering, and getting rid of a huge problem with the way the fender were mounted. Just as we had it ready for delivery, one more major issue arouse. We have a bad engine. Well that was nice. The internals of this engine were shot. Burned valves, flat cam, and a whole lot of no good. We did manage to find another engine that was the same Era. We freshened this one up. And for a surprise, we color matched the block to the color of the body. Cleaned everything up, put a new timing chain in and swapped over all the components the original one had. We are pretty confident that we just slammed to lid on pandoras box.. this week we will install and tune and hopefully deliver. Their was just so much wrong with this car, but we have transformed the bucket to a safe and fun little hotrod.
