Cold winter weather is going to sneak up on us sooner than we are ready for.. 🥶

We catch things before they become bigger problems. 🧐

The belt on the left is obviously on borrowed time. If the belt came apart it would have caused more damage to the drive belt system, aka more money & would have put your vehicle on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck. ⛓️‍💥

Without a visual inspection or complete failure you would have no idea the best was in this condition as it was not making any noise. A $60 part can be the difference of you making it to work on time or waiting on a tow truck. This is why vehicle inspections are important. 📝

Out with the Plastic, in with the Metal! 😏

We just finished replacing a leaky factory plastic oil pan with an upgraded Dorman metal pan on a 2.7L Ford EcoBoost! 🛠️💥

If you drive a Ford with a 2.7L or 3.5L EcoBoost engine, you probably know the struggle: factory composite (plastic) oil pans are notorious for warping, cracking, and leaking at the seal or drain plug over time. Patching or replacing them with another plastic pan usually just restarts the clock. This cast metal upgrade fixes the design flaw for good!

Why the Upgrade Matters? 🧐

✅ Eliminates Plastic Warping: Factory composite/plastic pans warp over time due to heat cycles, causing chronic oil leaks around the seal surface. Cast aluminum or stamped metal stays rigid.

✅ Ditches Fragile Drain Plugs: The factory plastic twist-in drain plug is notorious for weeping and stripping. Metal pans use a traditional threaded steel drain plug with a proper crush washer.

✅ Gasket Reliability: Metal pans allow for a standard, durable gasket or superior sealant adhesion that won't compromise when the engine flexing or cycling heat.

✅ Impact Protection: A metal pan provides significantly better resistance to road debris compared to composite material.
