In today's episode of, "What is That?"

Coil packs. In modern ignition systems, a coil sits on top of each spark plug.

They transform the battery's low voltage to the thousands of volts needed to create an electric spark in the spark plugs to ignite the fuel.

Coil packs replace the coil, distributor, and spark plug wires used in older ignition systems
