MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE
We are seeking a skilled Marine Mechanic to join our team in maintaining and repairing a variety of marine vessels. Experience in Mercruiser, Volvo Penta, Wakeboard Boats, and outboard engines is required.
Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on boats, including impellers, tune ups, gimbal bearings, transom kits, starter replacements, fuel pumps, and other repair and service items.
Maintain records of work performed and parts used.
Knowledge of engine service and repair, outdrive service, steering and shift cable replacement and adjustment, and basic engine maintenance including oil and filter changes, spark plug replacement, belt and tensioner replacement, v- drive fluid changes, fuel pump replacement, impeller and lower unit servicing, and other boat-related services.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, air tools, and diagnostics systems.
A valid drivers license and ability to hook up and back up boats and trailers.
Experience with rigging outboards, repairing trailer brake systems and wiring.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Must have experience .
Job includes on a daily basis-
1. Hook up and move boats from yard to work area,
2. Troubleshoot non running boats, pull repair parts from stock, or put special order items on list for shop manager to order.
Service only boats must be inspected for other issues, ran with water and checked for water/fuel leaks, loose belts, hoses that need replacing, thermostat and cooling issues. All jobs done here at the shop must leave 100% ready for the customer to launch and run. It is the technicians' responsibility to be sure that there are no other issues and that the unit is in runnable condition.
Repair boats, test run, and note parts used and labor hours on invoice.
NO candidates with dependency or reliability issues. As the season progresses it gets busier and the work load and pressure increases.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $30.00 - $48.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
