Start the year bright!! Turn on your headlights!! Those of you fortunate enough to have an Automatic Headlight option have half your job done for you. But, remember automatic headlights do NOT necessarily mean automatic tail lights. (Not sure what engineer thought this was a good idea). Sometime when it's safe, turn on your auto headlights, walk around the back of your vehicle and see if you get tail lights or not, so you can make the proper adjustment. Lights on, not to see, but be seen! Drive safe!!

Had this Focus on the hoist this morning for tires. That is one TOUGH exhaust pipe that it had to be secured with 1/4" chains!!!

Blood/Oil. I just had the unfortunate job to tow in a vehicle that the young driver ran out of oil. (Oil to an engine is like blood to you and me). So many of our young and inexperienced drivers think it's OK to wait for the oil light to come on to tell them to add oil. That does work, but by then, it's too late and usually serious engine damage has already occurred. Back in the 70's, Chrysler had some dash gauges that also used a tiny red pin light within the gauge. That pin light came on when the gauge was reading abnormally high or low and it caused the driver to at least look at the gauge. It DOES require a person to know what the gauge is trying to tell them!! Tonight I added 5 quarts of oil to a 5-quart system. It's too late for this 2013 model vehicle with only 120K on it........
