White Mountains Community College (WMCC) would like to take this opportunity to thank all who contributed to making the third Annual Grand Auto Show a success! The event was held on Saturday, May 5 and the number of participants exceeded last year with sixty cars entered for judging for “best of”’prizes along with a “people’s choice” prize.
Best of show trophies were awarded to: Ron Leydic of for his 1970 Chevy Camaro, Dan Sturgill for his ’74 Plymouth Cuda, Mary Ubaldo for her ’80 Chevy C10, Vincent Verdo for his ’70 Chevy CST, and Bruce Jaycox for hos ’34 Oldsmobile. The people’s choice trophy went to Jon Levielle for his ’70 Pontiac Strato-Chief.
As in previous car shows, the college provided testing on the Mustang Chassis Dynamometer, The show included music by Tim Dion, food provided by Norm Small catering and five vendors were available to sell their wares. This year’s event raised over $1,000 in scholarship money to assist students with their education.
A big shout-out is due to members of the community who visited the Grand Auto Show, and to our volunteers who gave generously of their time and talent. We’d also like to acknowledge our sponsors for their generous support: Northway Bank; Berlin City Auto Group, Mountain View Grand Resort, Berlin Kiwanis Club, Auto North Pre-Owned Superstore, Wal-Mart, Berlin Marketplace; as well as the friends of the Grand Auto Show: B and B Auto Supply, Sanel Auto Parts, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Bond Auto Parts, C&S Auto & Truck parts, Whitehorse Gear, Corrigan Screen Printing and Awards, Smith and Town Printers, Berlin Bowling Alley, The Common Man Restaurant, Dunkin Donuts, Jax Jr. Cinemas, Mr. Pizza Restaurant, Follett Bookstore, Shannon Lavertu, Steve Fader, Martha Laflamme, Sylvie Pratte and those who helped promote the show not wanting recognition. The fourth Annual Grand Auto Show has been scheduled for Saturday, May 4, 2019. Please mark your calendars. We look forward to seeing you all there!
