🔧 🔍 2014 Audi S7 with some random fault in quite a few modules. After some oscilloscope diagnostic this one was another CAN bus issue.

Sometimes the module is the issue. This car had a module putting noise in the bus, Gateway has a fault for no comms to the j527 but module is accessible via DLC.

Narrowed this guy down to a failing CAN transceiver in a module. First two pictures are with the bad module plugged in, last two are bad module unplugged. This scope is a huge help with this, loving this thing.

We’ll get this replaced and programed then back on the road. 🚗 💨

Sometimes a faulty module is not the answer. Proper diagnostic with the right tools is what gets the correct answer.

Isolating this little gremlin took some thinking but we isolated it to this branch in this particular BUS to the issue.

Car came in as a no crank no start. Well perform an overlay and he’ll be on his way.

Bottom picture is healthy top is bad.
